lets see, here is a question for you, what does Tom Jones knowing how to write a resume have to do with being a sheriff? NOTHING. second question is about the officers putting up signs while on duty and in patrol vehicles, and there are pictures of this. then why has no one seen the pictures. and one thing can be said about scott stephens is that he has not tried to run a smear campaign, unlike you guessed it TOM JONES. Here is an idea, how about a clean election and no dirty politics or is that asking too much.

I spent 20 years of my life as a policeman, and one thing holds true ever time. A bad cop gets caught ever time. It may be sooner or it may be later, but he will get caught! What goes around comes around. Scott should be ashamed of what he is doing to the reputation of Law Enforcement around the country.

Rest assured I'm not Tom, I commend him for what he is doing, but you could not pay me enough to get involved in an election in this county. behind the times would be a understatment. Well vested in blairsville if you were a police officer for over 20 years then you should know the difference between a sheriff and a politician. A sheriff gets things done and is not afraid of getting his hands dirty and doing the job with his officers. A politician on the other hand will tell you what is wrong and who is to blame and most of all could careless about anyone in the community except them selves and their own agenda which has nothing to do with law enforcement. Is that not true Tom. If Tom Jones got into office and he wont, I would be willing to bet that he would still sell property as a realtor on agency time. Has anyone though about that, and why didn't he ever run for sheriff in Florida if he is so knowledgable about being a sheriff? I have seen his type before (bad cop)and as far as getting caught guess what he would.

Realtruth, I am not from here either. I am not impressed with the change nor his lack of consideration while making changes that he wants to bring. I do not think Scott is of good moral character at all, I think he does his job. People scream big boy politics, again I am not from here and I have never had problems with them. Do I like Tom? No, I have met him and I was not impressed. Having family and friends as U.C. LEO's I feel confident that Scott does his job and contrary to what people say on here they want Scott in there. If Bear would have ran I would have voted for him, so it is not that I am a Scott groupie it is out of the few choices I felt he was the best for the job.
Oh and for the record I do not accuse everybody of being Tom.

Sorry Hmmm I have firsthand knowledge Scott does not do his job! We had a situation a couple of years ago where we needed to call the sheriff. Deputies responded but did nothing to help the situation because the person we were calling about was "Scott's friend". We called Scott personally and asked him to help us and he assured us he would be here shortly...several years later, still no Scott! Got a case number and everything from the Deputy but never heard another word. No court date, no arrests, nothing! I voted for Scott the first time around but quickly learned my lesson.

I also know about Scott's DUI; it's no secret. There is such corruption in the department, it's a disgrace to this county. I am voting for Tom Jones in November, but I would vote for Bugs Bunny if he was the only one running against our incompetent alcoholic incumbent. If you get a chance, ask each individual deputy (in private) his opinion of Scott Stephens; maybe a few will be honest. We need these guys to step up and let the truth fly.

I agree with you teach. He has gotten away with so many things it is crazy, not to mention all of the things the deputies and his friends have gotten away with. I will vote for Tom this November and I hope he goes in and cleans off all the current deputies (except a few good ones) and starts off new without all of the corruption that currently inhabits the sheriffs office.

I disagree with both of you TeachGA & TheAntiScott, Scott Stephens is a good upstanding family man and as the saying goes you can't please all the people all the time. I guess everyone thats on here smearing Scott has NEVER done anything wrong in your life and you are going to sit and judge someone. As I have always been taught, clean up your own front porch before you try to clean your neighbors...... Tom Jones' followers are the ones stating there is corruption in the department just to get stuff started, it's a political campaign not a smear campaign.
