I have seen a definite change and improvement in the Sheriff's Department, that certainly should lead to a renewed level of trust and confidence.

Nevertheless, we all recognize that the jury is still out in any final assessments or determinations.

With that said, accusations without any evidence are at this point simply speculation.

In fairness to all concerned the following must be considered, and questions answered to shed light upon any actions taken upon previous pending cases.

Although, the NGN didnít cover, and the New Sheriff chose not to linger upon, or make political hay regarding the levels of transitional complications as a result from a lack of cooperation by the previous administration, along with additional difficulties imposed by reported destruction of certain property, and the potential loss, disappearance, or possible obliteration of some case files within the office, a precarious situation was created, in my view by the out going administration, NOT the administration of the New Sheriff.

As it is incumbent upon a man we in the majority have lent our trust and confidence to clean up a mess, many chose to deny, it falls upon him, while doing that to carefully peace together evidence, reinvestigate, and make personal judgment decisions regarding those cases he may or may not be able to proceed.

Those who were and continue to be in denial will as usual challenge my opinions.

Nevertheless, two thoughts remain. Remember, a good Law Enforcement Agency/Officer will present the evidence, and probable cause for itís/their actions, however, you still must have a creditable Judicial System capable of maintaining that highest level of blind justice many have been expressing concern about for quite a time now.

Law Enforcement is simply the first leg of the process, to establish a fundamental integrity of the System. As a whole ours needs a house cleaning inclusive of DAís, Judges, or any other political interferences who may impede a truly blind and unbiased System of Justice.

I am confident we made a good start with our New Sheriff, we need not stop there.

And, with all that said, why did a thread expressing concerns, and posing legitimate questions as to some issues just simply disappear overnight. This posting was intended for that thread.

Well now there must be an addition question, does this most recent censorship validate or invalidate my discussion contained herein.

Two ways to impress; Blind them with your brilliance or baffle them with your BS. Not sure which the above post is.
Impressive nevertheless.

Your above post, and others of yours, does a good job summarizing the problem that "Change" is going to run into. You can change the people in power at one level, but if corruption remains in other critical levels - then issues come up, and the overall problem really hasn't gotten any better.
I've stepped aside while things play themselves out behind the scenes. I honestly think that there is a concerted effort to change things at all levels going on. I think it is sincere. I am skeptical about the involvement of one party, which I have in the past, in a different time and place been rather critical of.... specifically because of an approach that involves half-measures, favoritism, and at a rate of speed that makes cold molasses look lively.
There are certain entities that have my full support, regardless of whether they want it, or appreciate it. But I have my own agenda, and as long as they are moving in the right direction - I am more than happy to step aside and let others mop up. But I will change the course of things as I am guided.

I totally agree. Fortunate to have a new Sheriff however as the judiciary and its cronies hide things and cover things up its going to be tuff to clean this up. But its a great start.

Ive heard and seen many different Government agency's in the circuit as of late being Federal and State. I know for a fact that the Public Defenders office is being investigated as we speak. That's a blessing in itself.

All we can do is Pray for Justice within our counties. The judiciary of present will never allow that to happen.

Getting rid of alderman and Barrett was a good start. Just need to continue to demand an honest system.

As for deleting posts ...go ahead and knock yourselves out. I think you are well aware at this juncture, there are other forms of law enforcement besides LOCAL INFLUENCES. Good will prevail over evil and the truth will always beat a lie....remember that.

MV is correct. There has been absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY of the Counties money since one year after Lamar took office. I guess Lamar thought he could pass off a "BUDGET" report as county funds over the years. All the reports sworn under oath to the grand jury are to be attached to their minutes. Why do you think that several years were missing just from Lamars office? Langley agreed a "BUDGET" report was not legal document that should have been given to the Grand Jury.

Why do you think just Lamars wee missing?

As for Ms. Spiva, there were rumors out there for years about her taking the county money. It was Confirmed by Mr. Langley. She did take the money.

Why should the county pick and choose who they will cover up a crime for and who they won't.

Why was there more of a cover up when Lamar decided not to disclose in Open Records the county records showing that the money had been paid back.

Langley said the money was paid back and he also said there should be a record of it.

So I would say someone is lying?

Is it are Wonderful DA or is it our Wonderful Commissioner?

Speaking of accountability, when are you going to provide information that was previously requested, some time ago, regarding your membership roster, your accounting practices and donors to your cause? You never did comment on whether you are a licensed and registered organization? Accountability is a two way street......the public deserves to know if you are soliciting funds.

You touched a nerve, Mr. Justice.

Yeah, when will that information be made public?

People who donate would like to know what YOU do with their money.

Let's hear it, sis.

So, what you are saying is a few are fed up with Lamar. Only a few. I have to agree. Everyong I know likes the man.

Why do certain people write so much. It's boring and not interesting.

More than a few don't really care for the crook. We are now betting on him being removed from office. I can wait and see can you?

That information will be made public on the day that Lamar discloses to the public how much was spent on each and every SPLOST 2 and SPLOST 3 projects.

Have you EVER seen a list of the final cost of every individual SPLOST PROJECTS?

What ever happened to the $286,404 deficit that was still owed on the SPLOST 2 in the 2011 audit?

Did the County ever get SPLOST 2 paid off?

People are more concerned on where their money goes each and everyday collected in this county then they are about the money spent on Open Records Request!

I'm afraid the joke is on you. I'm not any old man. Course from what I've seen you aren't a man either.
