I am shocked most every week to see announcements in the Cherokee Scout of one or more unwed mothers that's given birth to babies. I could understand this in metropolitan areas or even the state where we formerly lived but not in these mountains where I was under the impression that most people were conservative christians and taught their children christian values.

Are you nuts? We used to be worried that the unwed mothers were giving birth to incest babies. Nothing in this world says the mothers have to be married. There are alot of unhapply married couples out there who got married because they were told it was the right thing to do. The children in those families are the ones who suffer. I come from a broken home and liked it alot better when my parents were apart and not argueing all the time. Worry about your own life and not everyone elses. If all you have to do is gripe about eveyone else I feel sorry for you and your sad lift.

Poo Dookie, you are an ignorant nuisance. You monopolize this forum for attention. You must have a sad, pathetic and lonely life. Peddle your BS in NC. or find some friend (like a good psychiatrist) to talk with.

Get a life! We have enough Christians up here that are charged with sexual assualt on teenage girls. I'd rather spend my energy on reading about theses dicks getting put in jail than worry about unwed mothers giving birth to healthy children.

"BOO", get your head out of the sand and get a clue...north ga. has one of the highest teen unwed mother rates in the state...as a parent, i learned a long time ago that you can teach a kid high morals upon high morals, but in the long run, peer pressure and the need to fit in and be loved has 95%(my estimation) reason that kids make these choices...

Do you think I actually care how much 'boodoodle' is hated in this forum by YOU .... ONE person with 100 different screen names .... get real, and while you're at it, get a life. The photos of the babies and the names of the parent(s) are in the newspaper every week, therefore IT IS the public's (my) business ... it's public record .... so, I assume you condone having babies out of wedlock.

No, I didn't realize those statistics !! Does not the love of family count ?... I would think if a girl is loved by her family, and she talked to them freely about sex, that this wouldn't happen. BTW, who raises these kids .... the girl's parents that have already raised their own children and probably feel resentful of having to take on another baby to raise and that resentment is passed onto the baby ??????

That does not mean you have to post nonstop on Blairsville topix. We can read it in the cherokee scout if we want to. You don't have to point out every little single thing to us. You are pathetic in your loneliness. See a good psychiatrist if you need to "vent", POO DOOKIE.

Statistics: Unwed mothers have more of a correlation with poverty or low socioeconomic levels than with religion. The only exception is some celebrities, but it's usually by choice and they are financially stable, so they don't fit the usual statistics.

No, but I have known of grandparents that have had to raise grandchildren from their unwed daughter and it didn't turn out good .... the grandparents resented this and that resentment was felt by the grand daughter .... long story short in one case, the grand daughter was into drugs for many years and died at the early age of 42. If the grandparents WANT to raise a child from their unwed daughter, that's one thing, but not all grandparents want that responsibility that has been thrust on them and I have seen many cases of such.

Edward, you're wasting your time trying to explain statistical data to these idiots (well actually there's only one idiot using 100 screen names).
