Back in the summer I think. They serve Alcohol so I guess that really wasn't the answer to everyone's problems.

All listed for sale. The Cookie Jar had been for sale for a long time but seems to be not listed now.

Like I mentioned in another thread, I can't believe the Armadillo even opened a new restaurant in this economy .... we weren't impressed with their menu.

Folks wanting to leave union county for various reasons. I know the Comfort cafe sold. It was owned by the same people that owns the Armidillo grill. Don't know why they are selling it.

All Eating places lose money during the winter months. The down economy is a huge factor. And good business people see the hand writing on the wall.

The good restaurants are busy all the time, summer and winter. Most of the places in Blairsville suck and that is why they are for sale and have little business. Some owners are tired of the rat race and want out so they can have a life.

Next place to shut down is Napoli. Watch and see. Their parking lot use to be packed when they first opened. Not any more. Horrid food.

What Mexican place on Young Harris? There is a grocery store owned by the people who run Monte Alban.

Yeah, ma8in street in murph is what it is. dirt cheap and very low quality food priced fair. I don't much like it, but like so many other places that serve the same quality canned and processed junk, the don't exect you to pay high prices for it. It is a model that works great here and says a great deal about local taste. If I opened a restaurant here in bville, main street would be my model.

Too few people with money to support restaurants. Even Fatz is quite slow except for fri and sat nights. Armidillos......you could not give me that giant mistake for free. Some of the others are constantly for sale and most just keep the price high in case some sucker comes from FL with big dreams big wallet and small brain. Not unherd of.

My guess is we will have a few less restaurants here by spring. Some are slower than the ones that have closed, so you know we have more than the market will allow. Just some people are not ready to give up or have their staff out of a job.

My guess is we will have one less pizza place, one less tex/mex, one less greasy breakfast joint, and one bigger and established place will be gone.

The Mexican Restaurant is next to the Blairsville Auto Parts on Young Harris street. I think the name of it is, El Paso's.
