Just tried this and it worked very well. I have always been a skeptic with regards to alternative uses for household items, but I recently bought a new house and the bathrooms we aweful....OMG!
I am going to redo my bathroom in the spring, and this made it bearable.

I have used Easy Off on my tire rims, I spray it on and let it set for about 30 minutes and then the dirt and grim just wipe right off.

Actually, you are rigjt to a certain extent. Some of the chemicals in Easy Off will remove a portion of the fibreglass gel coat. The gel coat is what makes the fibreglass glossy and protects the fibreglass underneath. Repeated use of Easy Off will eventually remove all the gel coat then, your enclosure will be dull and will hold stains. Removing and replacing these enclosures can be an expensive proposition since the enclosure is attached to the wall studs then overlapped with dry wall.
I assure you that if the folks at Easy Off thought their product was great for cleaning fibreglass, they would put the concotion in another container and market it as fibrglass cleaner.
Now, about those chicken legs....
Ditto, I would be afraid to use Easy Off on a regular basis .... only on soap scum buildup.

We have porcelain/real tile tubs and shower stalls, not pre-fab fiberglass or acrylic, like you do. Sorry, I can't be of more help. I would be careful of using something harsh on the cheap fiberglass ones like you have. Oven cleaner is very harsh whether fume free or not. you may end up having to replace the fiberglass with real material that will last.
Don't porcelain showers also get soap scum buildup and the grout eventually stain with mold .... if so how do you clean it.

Easy Off cleaner actually eats into your fibreglass. It does look cleaner but is degrading the fibreglass and over time it will look awful.
The best way to clean fibreglass is to use a fried chicken drumstick dipped in Windex. It will take 5 or so of the legs to complete the job.
Now I know why I'm missing 2 chickens and I've got a one legged chicken.

I had a late friend who brushed his teeth and moussed his hair with Easy Off. He was a nice guy too. Not too smart though. He used to clean his oven with Colgate and Dippity Doo.

That's good to know. We have hard water, it's hard to keep the tubs and showers clean. I'll try it.

It works great. I took it a step further too. I couldn't believe that I had little dots of mold (I think) on the linoleum floor under the bath mat. Yes, that's gross! I've tried almost everything on them and nothing worked...even fine sand paper! Nothing! So after reading these testimonials I sprayed a little on a rag and rubbed for a bit and all the black dots completely vanished. Then I sprayed water all over the spot to dilute and residue from the over cleaner and wiped it dry. Amazing stuff!

Worked years in the automotive painting business and we used Easy Off to remove painted on lettering (back when they did that)so I would be carefull on the tubs. If you have a new or fairly new unit, use the fiberglass boat cleaner/wax. Also, my wife has a rule, when you finish showing, take the towel and dry down the shower. This removes any left over water which contains the mineral deposits. Good post and forget the negative comments!!

It's been three years since your post - was wondering if after having used the oven cleaner is your shower itself still in good shape?

All I can say is if you haven't tried it then no negative comments are needed .... I cleaned one of our showers yesterday afternoon and my husband said it looked like new .... just to be on the safe side I would open a window or provide some sort of ventilation.
I say to all the negative responses these people need to just be real your stuff is real to you. They probably never smile anyway but I bet you are when you're looking at your sweet clean shower.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Even though we installed 2 filters in the water line, we still get rust-colored stains at the waterline in the toilets and in the tubs. That drives me crazy. We'll give it a try.

I tried scraping with my Finger. It worked down to the bone clean. I thought what
Could work like a fingernail.... A putty knife. I got a plastic one at home depot.
First I softened up the shower base with zip mold/mildew remover--about 3 applications and then the putty knife and whoa ,the scum came off easy. My shower base now looks like a new born baby's behind.1837
