Again, did Langley use the exact words "cover up"?
Did say that?

Not what he said "in a sense" but did he actually admit and say that the theft was a "cover up" by county officials.

MV, you were not at the meeting, so Sonny or Linda need to answer my question before I share anything.

If I can't get a straight one sentence answer, I will think this is another witch hunt to destroy people in Union County.

YES or NO
Did Langley say this was a "cover up?"

Law Revision wrote:
Approved by Governor 4/17/2012; Effective 4/17/2012.
HB 397 comprehensively revises the Open Meetings Act, O.C.G.A.§ Ch. 50-14 and the Open Records Act, O.C.G.A.§ 50-18-70, et seq.[NOTE: Based on earlier AG opinions and court cases, the Open Meetings Law has been held not to apply to officials, agencies and courts in the Judicial Branch. During meetings on this Bill, the Attorney General indicated that he thought that the same rule would apply with regard to the Open Records Act. However, neither Act contains statutory language that expressly states that the Judicial Branch is exempt.]
Section 2 amends the Open Records Act (ORA), O.C.G.A.§ 50-18-70, et seq. The definitions for “agency,” and “public record” have been revised. Records still must be made available within three business days, but if the records cannot be produced within three days, the agency can provide a description of the records and a time line for making them available. Agencies are also allowed to designate a records custodian to receive ORA requests. Requests for records may be submitted orally, in writing or electronically but only written requests (physical or electronic) can be enforced. The fee for copying records has been lowered from 25˘ to 10˘ per page. If the total cost of providing access and copies is under $25, agencies are supposed to provide the records and bill the requester. If the cost is between $25 but not more than $500, records may be withheld until the requester agrees to pay. If the requester doesn’t pay the bill, the agency can initiate debt collection procedures, which include suing the requester. The other remedy if they don't pay is that they can't get any more records until they pay for the first batch of records. Only if the total cost will exceed $500 can prepayment be demanded. The net effect is that it appears to do away with the current rule that if an individual annot pay for the records, they can't get copies for free. McBride v. Wetherington, 199 Ga. App. 7 (1991); Ga. Op. Att'y Gen. No. 81-71.
Im well aware of the LAW and its update.. However there is no one to enforce that law...I attended a couple seminars on by Mr. Olens and one by Mr. Ritter.. Both made it very clear.. that if there is a violation they would be representing the State agency that violoated the laws.. Its a hoax... to get citizens to file the comlaint with the Attorney General so that they have all of your facts should you decide to take them to court...Dont fall in that trap

My question was NOT answered.
Both you and Linda stated "in a sense" but didn't say whether Langley said there was a cover up.

If you can't understand what I'm asking then you are the problem.

Yes. I know more than any personnel file will reveal, but since you want to play games and not directly answer my question, "in a sense" you can go to hell.

The best source of answers is from people who have lived here for a long time, know Spiva, and work for the county. Get your files and do your search for records. The missing pieces of the puzzle, you can figure out on your own.

Interesting. Let's dissect these statements.
1) In the 1st instance you indicate you have something to share.
2) In the 2nd instance, you seem to need our information in order to know whether this is real or not.
Here is my thought.... if you knew anything, or had anything to share, you wouldn't need to know what we knew.... to know something yourself.
Ya know what I mean? LOL
Also, I know I gave you an answer to your question, and I know Linda gave you an answer to your question. Linda answered you in POST# 12, and I answered you in Post #20.
So I know, that we know, something that you don't know.
PS.. I also know that I have put in an Open Records Request for Judy Spiva's Personnel records. When I receive the response, I will make sure everyone knows what is in it.
Peace,

When you answer questions like this makes me think you and ACOG taking stabs in the dark hoping to get lucky. I don't care what you know, but what I do know is a lot more than you'll find out in files and records.

My only question was DID LANGLEY SAY THERE WAS A ""COVER UP"" IN THOSE MANY WORDS. Not ""in essence"" he said there was. Either he said it or he didn't.

Good luck. You will need it.

MV and ACOG have always been on a witch hunt. Always looking for something, anything, that they can find purchase with against our county's elected leaders. Even now, begging for tips through their website and through their paypal. Those two are the equivalent of trying to start a fire by rubbing two wet matches against each other.

My thinking is that you know nothing. You are most likely on a fishing expedition to find out what is known so far, most likely just interested in continuing the coverup. Unfortunately you aren't a very good fisherman - because we practically put the fish on your hook for you. Not our fault you can't reel it in.
Typical MV/ACOG bullsh*t...

Quit your self-important dancing around and answer the man's question: did Langley use the words "coverup" or is that your assessment?

Seems to me that you and ACOG are the ones on a fishing expedition.

I’ll have to put in my two cents here, The way, Linda answered the question was the way Langley voiced his opinion of what happened. As well as I remember her answer was almost verbatim.

“uc resident” Sounds like “oh my” trying to muff up the discussion with her ridiculous questions.

The thing that I would like to know is who is the “they” he kept referring to when he explained why there was never any charges filed?

Example:“They decided not to bring any charges at the time”

No matter what you want to call it, it's very obvious that no one in government wanted it made public and is doing everything they can to keep it secret.

Looking at it simply, Lamar is not a judge, he is our elected commissioner. He does not have the power to be judge and jury. That power is given to the judicial branch of our local government. If the “they” is Lamar’s office he has a problem. If the “they” is Gunter’s office then he has the problem.

I called Jeff Langley today and mentioned the alleged conversation in which he used the words "cover up" related to the Spiva case.
1. The Spiva case was about 5 years ago.
2. It was not on his watch as DA
3. There is no file in his office on Spiva
4. The alleged amount taken was not $250K
5. He NEVER used the words "cover up"
6. Very possibly the Statute of Limitations has run on any prosecution of this case.
7. He was informed funds had been paid back to the county.
Jeff Langley is a good man. You would not have his job at twice the money. He is a friend of mine.
Stop the bullshit.

I talked to Langley and asked him if he told Sonny and Linda there was a "cover up." He most certainly did not. This is written as if Langley is your best friend and confidant. Langley is a public servant who answered your questions fair and square. Nothing more. I suggest people choose their words more carefully. ACOG writes as if Langley supports her - Langley will never suggest one way or the other that he is in support of ACOG.
