Really....why do these blairsville girls run off and get hitched as soon as they find out they are pregnant?? What do you think this small town isn't gonna put 2 & 2 together here in a month. "Surprise! We are having a baby! Must have got pregnant on my honey moon!" Right........

Yes, it is sad. People's morals and values are not what they use to be. People have things backwards. Its suppose to be the other way around....1st marriage, 2nd baby.

From the birth announcements in the NGN there are a great percentage of out of wedlock births. I guess it more economical not to get married with all the social programs available, means all us working people have to pay for all this free welfare. Medicaid, EBT, free phone. My goodness, let's all quit work, but who would keep up all these people riding off the backs of others.

It is usually preacher's daughters to! Not mentioning any names but my daughters friend just ran off to gatlinburg to get married because she is pregnant! She didn't even tell her family about it until afterwards and cried the whole ceremony. She almost couldn't go through with it. No one even knows she is pregnant. I'm sure they suspect it. Its so sad because a baby is no reason to get married. Just because pregnancy out of wedlock is not Biblical it doesn't mean that a divorce a couple years down the road is!!!! A couple should only get married for one reason and one reason only, and that is love. A young couple should not get married just because they are scared of what people think about them.

I hope we can get the drug testing law passed as well. So in order to receive Medicaid,foodstamps etc. Participants will have to pass a drug test. That should cut down some of the mooching off of the government!

I sit back and look at all the comments and find it hard not to judge sometimes. However i wonder if all of us who judge maybe did the same lustful act and just didn't get a pregnancy. Does that make us better?

Just read the birth announcements and see..either 80% of the babies here are bastard children or nobody is getting married because of a baby like the poster thinks. Every week 50-60% have unmarried parents. Says a lot about the values here.

It is a serious problem. The NGN does not say anything about it, the Churches do not say anything about it, the Schools do not say anything about it, and the parents do not say anything about it.

It's as if these young girls do not know that sex leads to babies.

sex = babies = welfare
These girls live with the boyfriend rather than marry so they will receive benefits.

At least the girls aren't getting abortions, I'll give them that much credit. Apparently, the children are wanted and not throwaways.

The girl's parents and the baby's daddy should pay all the bills and quit expecting all us taxpayers to keep them up. Welfare becomes a way of life with no incentive to work. Just because they have a baby does not guarantee it is wanted or loved and cared for. Check the foster care system.

Hey there "puddin pop". Obviously I do not know who you are because like the rest of your gossiping buddies you keep your name anonymous, but I just thought I would let you know that this "Stephanie" girl is my sister (who indeed is not pregnant). If you knew correctly, she did not just run off and get married. It was planned and has been planned that her and her boyfriend of two years were to get married Friday. God forbid someone get married and not let the rest of this town know. I suppose that instantly makes being pregnant the reason. So anyway here's all the correct information and my family and I would appreciate if you keep her name out of your gossip. Thanks!
