Most people might not think anything of this, but if you are with Amerigas or Heritage, you have to options (IMHO):
1) Jump ship
2) bend over because your about to get it.

Proflame, here I come!

I have gotten better prices and service with Budget.

I agree Budget has good prices, I just found that during hard winters they have limited availability. I am not saying anything bad about Budget at all, their location is what has them in a limited service venue for the county, IMHO.
I posted this for no other reason then to let others know, it is about to get rough regarding prices in the area. Heritage and Amerigas are not the place I would want to be at this time.

There are 10 companies that service this area, I don't think 2 of those merging will affect the prices in such a competitive area. Like any other industry in corporate America, it's probably more about consolidating resources to reduce expenses.

I don't think so. When one or two gas stations suddenly raise their prices for no rhyme or reason what does every other gas station within a 10 mile radius do?

I won't argue with you and I won't say I told you so next winter. It is a friendly warning. Good luck with your consolidating resources/reduce expenses theory, I hope it works out for your wallet.

WOW Thanks for the heads up! I was unaware of this merger. Amerigas is, in my opinion one of the worst propane companies possible, with which to conduct business.

Unfortunately I am currently contracted for approximately 200 additional gallons with Heritage. Will certainly be looking to change providers. Or better yet, may just buy a wood burner and cut wood.

Odd ... just recently warned the young ladies at Heritage that their Company was about to price themselves out of existence, and they best be look for a job. Hope they listened.

Does everyone agree, Budget appears to be the most reasonable??

I own my tank, so I price out every year. Budget generally has Proflame by a small amount, but as I stated previous, their location makes it hard in regards to device during the winter. That was my experience. Proflame may be a tad higher, but their location and availability is much better. I have never went with Americas or Heritage because they are always higher.

who better to compete with than yourself, own as many different propane names as possible! Combining names only helps the little guy with 1 less competitor! Du

Why not just make a Home Methane Generator? With all the bullsh_t on Topix you could run 20 households.

I agree with the above post that Budget Propane (Suches) is the way to go. In the past, I had numerous experiences with Amerigas and their high price gouging. They even charged a big fee to come and remove their own tank from my property. Thank goodness, I now own my own and can shop for the best price out there at any given time. By the way, Budget usually has a summer fill up special, so that is a great time to "tank up" for the next season.
