Seniors should not pay School Tax in ...

So the old farts argue that they shouldn't have to pay school tax because they don't have children in school. Then in that case everybody that doesn't have kids shouldn't have to pay either, right? Or how about people who have 2-3 or more kids, should their school tax double for each child? Any tax should be fair and equal, either everybody pays it or nobody pays it. Crap like this is why there is no longer a middle class, the rich own the govt so they don't have to pay and the poor either don't pay or pay very little so the entire burden was shifted to the middle class. It used to be rich/middle class/poor. Now it's super rich/working poor/welfare.

Yes we have the working poor and this is because of high taxes, school tax is the worst culprit.

I'm 32 years old and I don't believe they should have to pay school taxes. Do these tax dollars also go to the athletic departments?????????? If so then hell no. I am glad of public forums on the internet though. That way limp wristed weak citizens like "Laughing at you" and "misinformed opinion" can spew their garbage. Before public forums they could not say the things they say because of fear and common sense. Many of those free loading sponges as you call them fought in major wars and actually had the balls to voice their views in the real world. They helped pave the way and gave us the freedom for the likes of [email protected] like Really could spew his crap. Second Mccabin owners don't repersent the majority of seniors. Who are on a fixed income which pays mainly for their basic needs including medication.

Oh, BS.
Everyone should contribute to education and the school system.
What does being in a war have to do with it? Lots of vets were in recent wars, have kids, so let's support those families and good education for all.

Athletic departments are important and a major part of the educational system, now and when I was growing up. I'm 70 years old and have no problem contributing towards schools.

OMG- this is miraculous! I totally AGREE with RRG on an issue... COOL. Perhaps there IS hope that we'll find enough common ground to eventually "get along"... all of us. >;-)

So you think people who have paid into SS their whole life, saved their whole life and paid School Taxes their whole life should pay school tax out of their SS and savings? You sir are a Obama Liberal.

No. Seniors were young too and already paid. You are the selfish one, not wanting to pay WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG AND ABLE.

Hardley an Obama liberal, but if that makes you happy so be it.

Now, let me ask a question. What part of getting old didn't you understand?
Life is what you make it. It is and was your responsibility to plan for the future and your senior years. You knew it was coming. SS is a great thing but shouldn't be any seniors main source of income. Savings, that's a good investment and so is owning land.

The future of all kids should be supported by those of us who either make a living or pay taxes. If you are a senior paying taxes on SS and savings, your taxes are minimal. I want kids to have a better opportunity to get a good education even if that means I have to sacrifice a little.

Liberal Thinking again. "If you want something", throw taxpayer money at it and look the other way. How about folks like you, pompous and arrogant, look into the statistics of Union Schools and identify the waste. How about the test scores at Union? Do you even know the facts? or do you "just support the kids"/ What an uninformed self promoting jerk.

We all want good education for our kids, yes. but maybe there Is a better way than taking Seniors SS checks to do it.

By the way, some people have been financially wiped out by the bubble bursting, by health problems (the expense and disability), some people like veterans have mental problems...
I could fill a book.... Have you ever tried to use your brain or are you too bust tooting your own horn?

Great post! my guess is that those who want seniors to pay school taxes are those who do not contribute anything to this unfair system.
