I have had it with that store. Was there tonight and a grand total of 4 registers were open and not one express. We had 2 items and had to wait behind a women who spent $200.00 and was using 3 different credit cards to pay for it.

I said something to the customer service lady in charge and she said there was nothing she could do. I told her it would have been smart to put in self checks and she said "Oh no that would take away jobs from people" Since when does Walmart care about their employees or their customers? Manager Tony Stewart, wake up or you will find yourself on the unemployment line

Never use a self check out in any store, unless they are giving you a discount to do so, as all you are doing is costing a cashier, a job.

Awwww! That must have been a horrible experience having to wait in line. I sure hope that you are fully recovered by now. Although, it may take several days to be able to finally put that awful experience behind you. I believe there is a group in the area that deals with p.l.s.s.(post line standing syndrome).

I was there during that time. I've noticed that only a few registers are opened around 4-6 pm, when a lot of people are getting off from work and buying groceries for evening meals or for breakfast, etc. There's not much a customer service lady can do but the store manager can. Some Wal-mart stores are telling their Associates to make themselves more available with hours or be moved to part-time. Call 1-800-WALMART and tell them about the situation. I'll guarantee you that Home Office cares. The lady's answer is not logical. Take away jobs? Does she want you to think that one or more of only those 4 will lose a job? I guess by her logic that if 4 self-checkouts were open, those four would be let go?

Couple of suggestions for those of you who expect instant gratification:

1. Call ahead and tell Walmart that you will be doing some shopping there and you don't expect to be kept waiting in line. That way they will realize that you are very important and they will immediately move you to the head of the line.

2. You can go to one of the other stores in the area like Ingles, Bi-Lo or Foodland. Although, you might have to wait in line there as well.

I know life can be so hard. But, try one of the above. It will make you feel so much better. No...probably not.

When we visited Blairsville yesterday people were so nice. At WalMart, to show how much they liked us, we didn't have to wait in line. A new line was started just for us because we are so friendly and walk around like two idiots smiling at every one just like the rest of the move-ins. Everyone was smiling back at us. I know some nasty people on this forum will say the people were probably laughing at us. I know they really like me.

Did I mention Cook's food is so good. Since I don't cook well, I wouldn't know the difference between good and bad food that's why I love buffets because they are greasy, cheap, and other people dig through the hot trays. I like to share germs.
That is how friendly Blairsville really is.

Those self service check-outs do not cost anyone a job. Haven't you seen the ones at Home Depot? Well, I have. Inside that little box, thanking you for your purchase, is a real person. They crawl inside at the beginning of their shift and stay all day in the dark. At lunch, another employee slips them a sandwich through a slot. Think about that the next time you use one of those self check-outs. Watch what you say while you are standing there and always be polite to them. When you leave, please tell the person inside the box to have a nice day. They will appreciate your kindness.

One doesn't help their own plate at Cook's hot bar .... a staff member does it .... goes to show you've never eaten lunch there.

Oh no! You've got me there. You're just too smart for me. Although, could not one, if one were so inclined, propel said loogie past the staff member into the hot bar? Now, if they were to install loogie guards..........

thanks, it's gonna be awhile before i eat at a buffett again. Which is a real bummer since i am heading to Harrahs Cherokee for a few days next week and i was planning on using my rewards points on the buffett. buffetts should be outlawed...sounds like something a democrat would do, right?

They never have enough cashiers when there are lots of people...not only that a self-service would not cost anyone a job as a cashier has to man those stations & help customers.

This Walmart is pitiful, they never have anything. They are always out of stuff and their clothing & shoe depts are pathetic! They could've done better when they chose to open this store. They should have also put in an optical dept., we don't have anything around here that's close. Yet they put in a walk in clinic when we have one just up the road!

The hospital (i.e., Union County) owns the walk-in clinic. The hospital (i.e., Union County) could have not chosen to have a walk-in clinic there and Wal-mart would not have one because they always use the local hospital for their walk-in clinics.
