My recommendations for preparedness. In case of an Emergency remember to have:

A Bible

3 gallons of water per a person, per a day, enough for 3 weeks.
Remember to periodically rotate water contaniers.
Store up to 3 weeks of food.
Also if you have pets, store up to 3 weeks of pet food, And 3 weeks of water for your pet.

Have a good suppy of batteries. A flash light and an emergency blanket per a person.

Have all your documents and a list of emergency contacts ready
in one case ready to go.

In case of evacuation:

Have toiletries in one case ready to move.
And if you have pets, have a pet taxi or carrier.
And a place to go.
And don't forget a first aid kit, and
any medical supplies you may need.

If you have any emergency recommendations, please list them here.
Thank you.

Be prepared,
tomorrow the sun will rise in the East.
Be prepared,
tomorrow the sun will set in the West.
Be prepared,
tonight it will be dark.

Be prepared,
buy chocolate in gold colored foil.
Be prepared,
Penzoil on sale by the case.
Be prepared,
fume-free gasoline stockpile in your basement.

Be prepared,
the Mayan calender is rolling over.
Be prepared,
the Whitehouse will never be the same.

Just can't get those stains out
watermelon seeds everywhere,
fried chicken grease on the upholstery.

Oh my, while I think you are assuming and sounding a little defensive, there are rumblings of a potential riot if Obama loses a close one. You know some folks won't back away from any chance to steal a color T.V.

Yeah, I saw that on Faux News during Katrina, one group was referred to as resourceful survivalists, while the darker group was labeled looters. Strangely, individuals from both groups were hauling pretty much the same stuff.

I was more referring to the O.J. thing. I don't remember Katrina the way you do, but much like the Braves fans throwing objects on the field because they didn't like the call, it don't always go your way. You can't pitch a fit and take things just cause a decison doesn't go the way you want to. Hell, that would make you an Occupy protester. How's that working out?

Florida schools are getting a failing grade today from parents outraged by a new state plan to set educational goals not according to the content of student character, but rather by race.

The Florida State Board of Education on Tuesday passed a "revised strategic plan" that calls for 90% of Asian students, 88% of their white peers, 81% of Hispanic students, and 74% of black school kids to be reading at or above grade level. A similarly sliding scale is at work regarding math requirements, with more expected of Asian students, less from their white and Hispanic counterparts, and the least from black students, according to The Palm Beach Post.

The move is being defended by Florida educators on grounds not unlike those offered to defend affirmative action, which is currently being debated by the nation's highest court. "The goals recognize that not every group is starting from the same point," writes the Post, "and are meant to be ambitious but realistic."

But also "offensive," say some parents. "It's a slap in the face to the African American community and the Hispanic community," said LaTanzia Jackson, parent and chairwoman of the Coalition for Black Student Achievement in Palm Beach County. "It's setting us back into times we have fought so hard to come away from."

Yeah,
"it don't always go your way. You can't pitch a fit",
you might actually hear some folks extolling
the virtues of Bullets or Ballots.

Must be a case of how things are mis-remembered.

Well,
after much consideration,
it occurs to me,
to ask,
what does this have to do with Being Prepared,
or
how looters are referred to by the news media.

On further consideration,
it appears that Asians can reach higher standards than whites, no surprise there, but I think they're expecting a bit too much from white folks.

Isn't that something! I read it and couldn't believe it. These race-based testing is so wrong. The playing field will never be level for minorities. When these kids become adults, there is no special treatment. They won't be able to compete fairly with others.
