I write what I want and need to say to make my point, as I wish. My purpose is to address issues of importance with reason, and evidences of factual content, sources, and to influence people to see and embrace truth and the Traditional morals, and values our Nation was founded upon, and once endorsed.

It is of no consequence to me should you read my postings or not. They are intended for those who seek awareness, knowledge, and rational sources upon which they may actually comprehend, give thought, and intelligent consideration upon which to base informed decisions.

Obviously you haven’t done that. It appears your only interest is to mock and disparage those who have actually provided solid evidence supporting their positions and comments.

But, as of this point, I haven't seen anything from you, and some others, upon any issue in which you have provided one iota of evidence, source, rational thought, or a pretense of a defense for any position you claim to be so adamantly in support of.

Rather all you have to offer is pompous, elitist attitude and instead talk down to those you seem to think are not good enough for you and your Champion.

Maybe you might give this some thought ... we the common people, you and the Commissioner, so seem to detest, really have had enough of this sort of attitude.

We (the community [taxpayers/voters]) will pursue answers, justice, and a better government for our community. We do not forget, and as shown in 2012; those who have betrayed our trust shall be replaced.

Yes we have gotten away from traditional values. The very reason for the mess we are in in regarding our government on all levels. We need to return to common sense leadership.

A sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have chosen to make your stand in endorsing a once sacred belief in all that made our Nation so great. I think we are much stronger than our misguided adversaries suspect.

We (citizens, taxpayers, voters) must stay diligent, and make that vital difference in the rapidly nearing elections, both locally and Nationally.

In my view, it is important that we see these upcoming elections, not as partisan maneuvers, but maybe our last opportunity to save our Nation from total destruction.

Now is The Time – to identify the Champions we must trust to carry the heart of our cause, and reclaim our communities and our Nation in 2014 and 2016.

To accomplish that objective it is imperative that we move in unison to remove those from office who have betrayed our trust and replace them with trustworthy, honorable, and responsible Leadership.

Leadership that listens to our needs, responds to our complaints, answers our questions (with truth) and with a respected Statesmanship, and obvious professionalism, and honor that is responsive to those who elects them.

Again, I appreciate those who read my postings, and express support for the America many of us once knew, miss, and intend to reclaim.

My question, tmv, why don't you work?... Even if you agreed that Lamar is a good person and doing a good job, I wouldn't like you because of the arrogance you display... I still would like to know why you don't have a job. Why you have so many children.... I'd be so embarrassed by the information Norm posted... Norm getting fired isn't that big a deal... Norm established long before you accused him of making false statements about you that he indeed did call you something that you found offensive... people have the right to question you and who you really are.
My thoughts as I read these posting:

One doesn’t need to guess just who is expressing arrogance, and, in addition, contempt here? Even of more significant noteworthiness: the writer again attempts to establish his perceived superiority, adding his acquiescence that the previous editor of the NGN did indeed post information, by which he (the poster) himself, would have been embarrassed.

And, he doesn’t stop there, he goes on to proclaim that, in this case, the firing of that editor “isn’t that big a deal.” Citing a warped reasoning that that Editor had indeed earlier verified essentially the charged slander and/or offensive false statements. So this same distorted method of reasoning then proclaims a right to invade the rights of the aggrieved individual.

once someone... publishes a newsletter... people have the right to question... Who is the person who is telling the community about all the wrong-doings? What kind of credibility does the person have? It doesn't really fall on deaf ears since everyone from the post office to people I know wonder who in the hell hung a newsletter they didn't subscribe to on their mail box encouraging voters to vote a particular way. If this is over your head. I do understand and consider the source
.
Rich Golfer wrote:
... No one is forced to read the paper, are they?
But the 26-PAGE newsletter was distributed to people who did not subscribe, it was placed on their mailbox that they own, and only pissed people off.
I may go one step further. Those who didn't have a clue who David Hopkins is found out he was one of the people responsible for Norm leaving the newspaper. Many people were directed to TOPIX. Many learned David was suing Norm at the taxpayer's expense. Many people also have read David's 'story' and wonder why in the hell he is involved in Union County business.
Despite what you read on topix, the town is content. People are happy. Citizens love the golf course, the farmer's market, the horse arena, Meeks Park, our beautiful college, the lovely schools, Ingles remodel with a Starbucks, and all the improvements made throughout the city and county. Those who aren't happy are basically SOL because they'll always be unhappy regardless who sits in the commish office.
Those who are unhappy all the time would love it if the town resembled Harold Cook's tire store. Ain't gonna happen, folks. Ain't gonna happen.

BTW. A 26 page newsletter was overkill and repetitious. Obviously, it was a waste of paper because people will make up their minds without propaganda shoved in their face.
Yes, what ACOG and tmv write is considered propaganda.
A few more thoughts for consideration:

Is it really important who exposes wrongdoings? Or, for that matter the credibility of that person?

I first would offer this: isn’t it of more importance to examine the credibility of the evidences? What that evidence is, where, and yes, how it was obtained, and of course its reliability; is it solid, concrete, documented, verifiable evidences, and possibility more particularly, when and if such is part and parcel of the Public Record, which carries a penalty of Law should such be falsified?

I think this in and of itself far surpasses the reputation of exactly who may be the one who actually provides that evidence to the scrutiny of the appropriate authorities and/or Courts of Law.

No, the people at the post office, the posters friends or ours, do not have the legally designated authority to analyze the evidences in their totality, nor to adjudicate the final disposition.

Before I finish a few final things:

At last a bit of truth; “No one is forced to read the paper ...” or for that matter postings, or a newsletters.

And yes many newspapers, newsletters, and obvious devious sources could be considered conduits for propaganda.

However, most rational, reasonable, and remotely intelligent people readily comprehend fact, truth, and reality, from dishonesty, treachery, and deception.

Many times both newspapers and newsletters are found in many places, whether at homes, hospitals, motels, hotels, merchants and the like. And other instances where people haven’t initiated subscriptions.

An extraordinary thing about mailboxes, that apparently some don’t recognize. The post or device you place a mailbox upon is, in most cases, within the public right-of-way; the mailbox, which you purchase, once it becomes a U S Mail receptacle, technically is the property of the Postal Service, and under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government. Anything placed within that receptacle, or upon it, is so regulated.

However, a newspaper box, placed upon the same post, and/or supporting device is treated entirely differently. And, anything placed within that box, or attached to it or the supporting device(s), are singular in nature and are not subject to Federal jurisdiction or regulation.

In conclusion most all of us love our homes and the beauty we find in these mountains of Union County.

And in that regard, I’m certain most of us recognize the differences in the most basics of our wants and needs. In times of prosperity, we all welcome the luxuries of progress.

Nonetheless, speaking only for myself, I adamantly disagree with “Rich Golfer” who’s views, to me, do seem to be rather arrogant, self-serving, and selfish. While his primary concern only appears dedicated to living extravagantly.

I am delighted that someone/anyone would become “involved in Union County business” so as to expose any shortcoming, misappropriations, malfeasants, or corruption that may discover in any of those who we elected, in trust to serve us, who have instead betrayed those of us who elected them, as we have worked so hard simply to survive, feed our families, and pay our taxes

BACK TO THE AUDIT: ANOTHER QUOTE:

"During the testing of the activity at each of the respective elected official offices, as well as the balances on the County's general ledger for amounts due from the various offices, we noted a lack of oversight of the finances by the County's finance department over each of the elected official's offices."

"LACK OF OVERSIGHT OF THE FINANCES BY THE COUNTY'S FINANCE DEPARTMENT"

I believe that would be run by Robin Gazaway.
Since Robin Gazaway is haed of the County Finance Department, I wonder if she is responsible for the following, which is another QUOTE FROM THE AUDITOR:

"During our audit procedures, we noted that the County has not adopted a written accounting policy related to Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement No. 54, Fund Balance Reporting and Governmental Fund Type Definitions. This new standard was effective for the County for the years ended December 31, 2011 and December 31,2012. We recommend the County to adopt a written accounting policy related to GASB Statement No. 54."

NO WRITTEN ACCOUNTING POLICIES MEETING LEGAL REQUIREMENTS. And people wonder why there are problems. The County Finances are in a shambles - under the direction of the team of Lamar Paris / Robin Gazaway. This recent Audit proves it.

I believe that would be run by Robin Gazaway. That quote was from the Auditor, not The Mountains Voice, not ACOG. The Auditor is basically saying Robin Gazaway is running the finance department with NO OVERSIGHT.
So - what to do with Robin Gazaway?
Time to get a new finance manager. Well that won't happen, another one that knows to much!!!!!!

Lamar can say I am printing lies, but he can't argue with the Auditors own comments, which is where almost the entire "Audit Section" of my News Report came from. So don't believe me. Don't believe Lamar. Read it straight from the Auditor!
I said a while back that this was going to be my focus. Behind the scenes it has been. I have approached a state agency with information that details problems with the Audits and Record Keeping of the county. A lengthy report has been submitted. The common thread to each allegation was that it pointed out all the inconsistencies and problems. A lot was backed up with sub-tabs referencing actual records provided me by open records or other groups. At every turn I have suggested that the only real way to get to the facts is to do a limited forensic audit on one aspect of the county books. I took this approach, becasue it is an important financial unit of the county, and will most likely lead to other areas of problem - but is a more manageable mini-forensic-audit that deals with Part of the County Budget - not all. Hopefully something will come of this. Never can tell, but it is being seriously reviewed by legal investigators. I was quite thorough and organized.

Keep your fingers crossed.
