Got my postage paid mailer today. Wonder how many they sent. For only $4/mo extra on your first 150 KW,(that comes out to only a 25% rate increase), you can ensure the messy hydroelectric power you receive now that generates so much 'waste and pollution', will come from 'renewable resources such as solar, wind, and biomass'.

There's no telling when this nonrenewable dammed rainfall will run out, so sign up now.

You can sign up online, so that board members can give themselves pay raises sooner, and add on to the new headquarters rock building. Also,Sen Ralston can attend classes to learn how to explain the 'customer charge' on the bills, since he offered no explantation as how this is figured into the KW rate for comparison with other power companies.

After people start signing up, they will raise the rates because of the cost to produce the power. Whenever people start trying to conserve energy, rates are increased.

BRMEMC isn't going to come up with any idea that'll save the customers money. That goes against their plan. Just because it's a non-profit doesn't mean that they are trying to lower spending in any fashion. They just find ways to waste it -- like the palace in the country.

How come no other EMC in the surrounding areas like Dahlonega have a customer service charge.?

BREMC is a co-operative. That means they are non profit. Any profits are supposed to be given back to the patrons. I belong to several coperatives and I always get a check at the end of the year. I have belonged to bremc for 50 years and never received one thing except rate increases. Where is the profit going? The new facility which the patrons cannot use?
I guess its right

because it is a fraudulant deceptive scam to make the /KW rates seem low. No one has called them out on this one, because most don't understand it. So it will continue.

Instead of bitching on here why doesn't everyone put together a campaign to take the EMC back from those who have control of it now. All that is necessary is for everyone to cast a vote next year for a new director in each county.

Also, "just in case" . Guard the ballot box, guard the vote count, and put the new candidates under guard for protection ..

I signed up and voted in the last BRMEMC "election". When I went to the ballot online they had two choices for each position. One choice was the person the EMC had picked and the other was "Abstain". That doesn't get you any new directors.

Each new candidate must have approximately 125 EMC member signatures (probably need more because some may be disqualified.) These sigatures must be submitted to the EMC by a certain date. Call or go by the EMC office in a timely manne to get the exact rules in applying to run against a current director.

why are all the directors grossley overweight? And dripping cold slaw off their chins as they explain the rates?
