The following is an investigation into a Real Estate Transaction by United Community Bank, Inc.(UCBI / UCBID) Bank Officers: Jimmy C. Tallent (President & Chief Executive Officer), W.C. Nelson (Director), Robert L. Head (Director), and Thomas Gilliland (Secretary & General Counsel).

The Original Report was originally released to the FDIC, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Atlanta Federal Reserve, Georgia Department of Banking and Finance in January of 2011. The report has been updated, and is being widely re-released. Submission to the SEC Whistleblower Division (which this has been discussed with in detail, and have expressed solid interest in the case), and to the Federal Department of Insurance Corporation - Office of Inspector General (FDIC-OIG) has now been completed, and proof of submission to those organizations has been included at the above website.

UPDATE / January 24, 2014

United Community Bank this week finalized repayment to the U.S. Government of $180,000,000 in borrowed TARP monies.

Also this week, Convicted Gilmer County Banker Adam Teague's multi-million estate went into preforeclosure. After a several year quiet investigation, Adam Teague and 2 other Bankers were indicted. One killed himself, one has been indicted on 6 counts, and Adam has lost everything now, including his freedom as he serves 5+ years in the penetentiary.

I mention this because United Community Bank has also been under investigation, however unlike Appalachian/Gilmer Bank - they owed the government 180 Million Dollars.

IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IF FORMAL CRIMINAL CHARGES WILL NOW BE FORTHCOMING, risk obstacles regarding repayment now having been removed.

Jimmy Tallent, Robert Head, and W.C. Nelson are all involved in a land deal detailed in the report link above. More on Head & Nelson's land dealing to be forthcoming - including vast Union County land holdings they own under various Shell Companies. It will be interesting to some to see how their land values are directly impacted by land purchases made by Union County Commissioner Lamar Paris. Because when the Commissioner pays Super-Inflated prices for land, it is often neighbored by Head-Nelson owned property.

UCBI paid back the Tarp, and their stock started dropping from that day onward. No reason to protect them anymore. No reason to protect people in the bank either.

Amazing! You are a self centered SOB! Here you have all this supposedly financial background and insight and yet you are on welfare! Would you please explain that?

You talk about your connections with all these federal investigators and how you brought down the Ellijay bank, and how these guys call on you and divulge all this secretive information, eat at your table. I would suggest that in all probability the only law enforcement people that has been in your house were there to arrest your sorry law breaking/felony ass!

If you want to talk about law enforcement acquaintances I will divulge mine, and tell you that the good protectors in both Gwinnett and Dawson Counties speak very highly of you as well as your former neighbors on the lake!

“Commissioner Paris accepts a Quickclaim Deed between 515 Development, LLC and Union County in the amount of $1.00. This parcel is .794 acres lying in Land Lot 303, 9th District, 1st Section. It is situated next to the batting cages which the county already owns adjacent to Meeks Park. The county had to pay the back taxes on the property last year and secure the title. This property borders the batting cages on one side, the Nantahala Apartment complex on one side, the Paris Estate on one side and Butternut Creek and Meeks Park on the other side.”

County tax payers paid the back taxes from 2008 – 2015

Taxpayers are not told of the transaction until the County meeting October 15, 2015

We have one person running the county with no input from the taxpayers.

Why would any county receive a quitclaim deed? A quitclaim deed does not guarantee that the grantor is the rightful owner and has the right to transfer the property.

They transfered Grimsley to NC but can't hide the records. Those who did these crooked and low down acts should be taken out behind the barn and horse whipped.
