Today I went to a Tea Party Meeting in Ellijay. Nice Folks that are in the same boat that we are. Not as corrupt as our commissioner.

They wanted to know if our county commissioner posted the counties meetings in the paper with the agenda so the PUBLIC would know what was going on and know which meeting they really needed to attend.

HB397 The changes to the law are effective now.

Open Meetings – Notice and Agenda
 Notice must be posted at least one week in advance of
regular meetings. Post it at the place of the meeting and
on your website and let the press know.
 Special meetings usually require at least 24 hours notice,
though there are special situations where less than 24
hours notice is permitted if the circumstances demand it.
Immediately give notice to the “legal organ” for meetings
that are not regular meetings.
 Agendas for meetings should be specific enough to advise
the public of the matters expected to come before the
agency. Matters outside of the agenda can be addressed if
they were not anticipated before the meeting.
O.C.G.A.§ 50‐14‐1(d) ,(e)(1).

Has Lamar been breaking the law again since 5/22/12?

Is this another one of those laws that Lamar will say is a
"STUPID LAW" just like all the other notices he was to be posting in the paper over the years and didn't???

Just think how helpful and useful this notice in the paper will be. He can cut the BS in his Q/A and give us something beneficial.

I'm starting to think Ms ACOG has never attended a county commissioner's meeting and has barely stepped foot into our county courthouse.
The upcoming meeting has an agenda ready at the place where you sign in as attending so you can follow along during the meeting. That agenda also gets posted before the meeting in the courthouse hall along with budget information and all manner of other required notices that are stuck up there.
The commissioner's meeting schedule is listed on the county website and posted in the community events calendar of the county organ.
Public notified, special meetings listed in the North GA News, agenda distributed and made available. Now what were you caterwauling about?

The county open meetings are not posted in the paper monthly with the agenda a week in advance.

The county commissioner does not put the agenda on his website a week in advance just the dates of the meetings.

There could be a lot of information put in the paper and on his website site but all you get in this county is propaganda.

What good does it do to go to any meetings>

Do you get to vote yes or no on anything? NO

Lamar tells you what he is going to do.

At the Revenue Bond hearing Lamar tells how he is going to tear the old golf course club house down because it was considered a "SLUM"

I said we would like to get a second opinion before it is tore down.

To late said Lamar it's already tore down.

We told him we did not want the Revenue Bonds that the Community Center was voted for in the SPLOST and needed to stay in SPLOST.

TO BAD said Lamar.

Was it ever mentioned that he was going to put up our home for collateral. NO HE DID NOT.

Instead of getting the 3 million dollar Community Center you are paying over 9 million dollars.

Lamar is ruler and king over Union County.

TIME TO WAKE UP UNION COUNTY!!!!!!!

In the meetings the Commissioner stands there and lies thru his teeth and doesn't even miss a beat.

In one of his meetings he said that the County was taking over the Private road in Dick Bells subdivision Barnes Creek Road BECAUSE the HOMEOWNERS PAID FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS.

What he did not tell you is the homeowners were YOU the tax payers. His friend Dick Bell just put in a new development on Barnes Creek Road.

All you had to do was follow the paper trail of when the Dick Bell bought the development and when Lamar took the road over.

Guess what folks YOUR tax money is now paving the private road in there.

WAKE UP UNION COUNTY!!!!!

Linda did go to a meeting and didn't speak up. She was like a little mouse with her camera crew trying to trap Lamar into some of her imagined lies.

If Linda was truly interested, she would attend meetings and try to meet people who might support her, but, no, she babbles on and on here on TOPIX.

Linda rehashes the same old shit over and over. Now she is going out of town trying to dig up dirt or find a way to take down Lamar since all of her attempts have been futile.

Linda is afraid to attend meetings because she knows most of the people in this county like Lamar and support him. She'll use her illness or some other stupid reason not to attend, but she can go to Gilmer County for a meeting.

I looked at the law you cited and it doesn't say where it has to be shared, only that it is shared publicly. The hallway in the courthouse is public space. You are tilting at windmills, crazy ACOG lady, and making up your own rules on how the county government is supposed to comply with state laws. That is why the AG will will listen to you any more. That is why the news stations do not listen to you any more. And that is why the people of Union County do not listen to you any more.

It would be nice if the public was aware in the newspaper and online ahead of time what the meeting is going to be about. I work and if it was a important meeting I would get off early and show up. It would not be a big deal for the county commissioners to keep the public informed. Not with todays technology.

(d)(1) Every agency subject to this chapter shall prescribe the time, place, and dates of regular meetings of the agency. Such information shall be available to the general public and a notice containing such information shall be posted at least one week in advance and maintained in a conspicuous place available to the public at the regular meeting place of the an agency or committee meeting subject to this chapter as well as on the agency's website, if any. Oh My IT SAYS: Open Meetings – Notice and Agenda

It clearly states NOTICE and AGENDA

Do you mind putting the link to each AGENDA posted one week BEFORE each meeting on the commissioners website.

I'm going to explain this real slow like so you maybe can follow along. Rest assured I am typing this in as slow as I can.
the damn law wrote:

Time, place, dates of regular meetings. Notice that in this here section is does not say the word "AGENDA". Posted at least a week in advance in a conspicuous public place - that would be the county courthouse - and the website. Check. All those things are currently adhered to as it says in this here law.

Now this next part here deals with the agenda, so you pay real close attention, you hear? And yes, I am still typing real slow for you.
the damn law wrote:

Posted at the meeting site, as far in advance as reasonably possible, and publicly available some time in the two week period leading up to the meeting. Posted in the county courthouse hall is a public place. I've never measured how early they get the agenda up there, but it is always waiting on me when I sign in to attend the meeting. I just notice it in the glass case every so often when I'm looking at what other public notices might be up there.

You wanting to put rules in place that aren't there aren't going to make it so just because you can't do reading comprehension properly. I know I used a lot of words just then but I hope you kept up. I don't think I have the energy to explain it again.

So you admit that the Commissioner is in full compliance, thank goodness Straight Talk provided that link to the actual law and the relevant paragraphs.

Oh wait, you couldn't even do that, what were working from a Tea Party Talking Points Handout.
