Home Depot unless you are a manager less than 10/hr
Ingles , same as above. ADC around 9/hr if you can get an interview and hired. Restaurants, most definitely under 10. Cooks might make more if they are good. Grocery stores under 9/hr. Managers may make above 10. Banks, teller way under 10. Some loan officers probably make better than 10. Nelson/Ace under 10 I have probably missed some of the smaller businesses in Blairsville. If you disagree please by all means correct my assumptions . |

You pay really well for house keeping, most cleaners make 15/hour. i guess that also depends on who provides the cleaning material. Anyway we have beat this topic to death. And have gotten way off course on the thread topic. I guess my real point was to try to point out to some people that it really doesn't matter in a lot of case in Blairsville if you are working or not. Most would still qualify for assistance. |

Judged: 2 1 1 I think to be eligible for Food Stamps a family of four needs to make less than $32,000 / year. I think anyone who is eligible for this public assistance should take it if it is allowed by the laws I have established. I am not aware of any rich people nor corporations who refuse their tax breaks. Nor should they criticize those who receive benefit from other programs unless they are willing to give up their own. Your ways are not equal, and neither are your benefits. I have established it so. |

I read with interest your posts. You make a good employer. There is no note of sarcasm or up onemanup in your writings. In addition to my part-time (hoping to be full-time soon) job I clean homes. I got this by working with another woman who has a really good business going in Union and Towns County. When our home in FL sells neither of us will have to work two jobs or more. |
Thank you. I find your comments enjoyable, as well. Housekeeping and other personal service jobs earn above the norm. I've never been too proud to clean a toilet to earn extra money.((laughing)) I have a small business in addition to my p/t job. When I want to push the envelope and work really hard, I can make a lot of extra dollars. When your home in FL sells and you don't have to work, I bet you will go stir crazy and want to work. You sound like a motivated person. I work because I like to and I donate my time to a project that is expensive and requires extra money. Work ethic and job skills is what it's all about. Both seem to be lost in our society these days. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Most of the people on these jobs are uneducated with few skills, and no college degree. You can't expect a high paying job with no education. |

Wasn't talking about education. We were discussing Food Stamp assistance and the average worker in Union County. The thread was started because someone got their panties in a wad, when they saw someone using food stamps. As far as your education remark, outside of the education system in Blairsville are they really that many occupations that need a college degree. I guess you could be like someone I know that works at Walmart, he really is putting his degree to good use. |
No. A 25K house valued at 300K.! |

Judged: 2 1 That is one of the reasons we are in such a mess now. We don't produce anything in this country anymore. Seems everyone wants to sit behind a desk and push a pencil. |

Thanks. I will probably just sit maybe at Meeks Park and say AHHHH! Its a possibility that I may resume my career after my little ones are in middle school. Family is #1 plus my hubby never had it in his plans that I work outside our home. I like what you do and I will consider your plan at achieving goals. |

Union County is so beautiful! The employees at 3 of my favorite places, Home Depot, Ingles and Wal-Mart are so nice, they always make my day. My butcher knows and remembers what I like. I see them interact with each other so nicely like it is not work but a pleasure. I have seen a few use food stamps, they appear to need them and have good choices in their cart. I believe they plan more than I do. The food pantry program at church and community giveouts tugs at my heart and the thank yous are abundant when I am able to work for them.

Judged: 1 "I went to the money tree and the tree was bare. I went to the Appraisers to explain the situation, but they didn't care, they needed money to vacation." Why do all the geniuses here making suggestions to people having money woes - always suggest solutions that involve spending more money. Maybe if people didn't want to build unneeded clubhouses and other such nonsense on the working stiff backs of what is a blue collar / low-middle class / farming and agricultural community, then people wouldn't have to worry about the property taxes. Penny taxes add up to people that count their pennies. And slowly they steal the people's land - one penny at a time. |

Judged: 2 1 1 This is not true and you know it, we still manufacture a great deal in this country. Now if you want to say that the number of manufacturing jobs has decreased due to automation (robots), then you would have a valid point. |

Forget that . Tried that and Lamar controls his appointed puppets . In this weeks paper he re appointed the same ones again . |
