Yes by Eves voluntary transgression all mankind became sinners and the penalty for sin is death.

Do you have a little pull string that someone keeps pulling to make you say the same thing over and over?
You might die for your sins but as for me I accept forgiveness for mine. I imagine Jesus is not too happy that you do not accept his sacrifice.

I accepted Jesus as my savior years ago. The best thing I ever did! You must be Born Again to enter Heaven!

You describe yourself as a Christian, but you don't "affiliate" yourself as Baptist, Methodist or whatever, right? In order to call ones self a Christian, doesn't a person need to be "all in" on the Bible? Are you "all in" with the Bible?
Oops!

Can't say I'm all in with the Bible, but I'm all in with TRUTH OF THE SPIRIT. God gave us a brain to think with. No one should check their brains at the door when they enter through the portals or their religion.

I'm not sure where to start. My earliest memory is gazing into the stars and realizing there is God. In the old testament the profit Jeremiah said, "The time is coming, "declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD, "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts, I will be their God, and they will be my people, No longer will a man teach is neighbor or a man his brother, saying, "Know the LORD," because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." This is scripture written 627 years before Christianity.

The new covenant is Grace, the good news of Jesus Christ, as described in Paul's letter to the non-Jews of Galatia. The Spirit of God writes the law on our hearts. This is the work of the Holy Spirit of God or Life by the Spirit.

"Religion" is performance based. True Christianity is not performance-based.

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.(Galatians 4:28)

Christ gave his life on the cross to set us free from sin and from a long list of laws and regulations. In the Jewish Bible, priest would sacrifice animals every year for the forgiveness of sins. In the new covenant of grace, Jesus Christ gave his life so we would not have to sacrifice animals. Christ came to set us free -- not free to do what we want to. Paul said, "So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature." If you trust Christ, your sins were forgiven present, past and future. Go to a Baptist church and you will hear a lecture on how you have to ask the god of the Baptist to forgive your sins every day. I have a problem with that. If God the Father "remembers our sins no more" why do we need to repent and get saved all over again. It cheapens Grace. The Baptist god can never be pleased. Scripture tells us that when we accept his atoning sacrifice on the cross, God the Father forgives us now and for ever. He will never love us any more or any less.

Legalistic Baptist teach their children...

Oh be careful little eyes what you see.
For the Father up above is looking down in love,
So be careful little eyes what your see.

What does God become in that song? It takes the wonderful words like 'Father' and 'love' and turns God into a divine traffic cop, waiting behind the billboard with his radar gun. Who wants to grow close to a Father like that? We cannot love what we fear! You can't develop a relationship with someone who is always checking your performance. It's SPIRITUAL CHILD ABUSE.

The more you focus on your fears and failures, the more distant your Father will seem to you. Guilt does that. Abusive legalistic churches are like dysfunctional families that shoves us away from God in our time of need, instead of allowing us to run to him.

Do you see why I left the religion of the Baptist? The Temple of Grace is far far better. Our bodies are the Church, not the building.

Mike:

I'm a Christ follower. Christ means Messiah. I believe the Son of God, the Holy Spirit and God the Father are One. The Son (God with us) became human. There is not other God like Yahweh. The Bible has errors because thousands of scribes copied it down through the ages, but the Message is still the same. I hope this URL link works.

Well that is the URL from HELL. If you can't click on it or cut and past, Google Jesus Follower vs. Christian.

The link above is much shorter than the cut and past. That's what I meant by the "URL from Hell."It took up several lines. The Evangelicals and other KJV Trumpeters will think it is from Hell because of it's message -- this I'm sure.

All, please don't think I'm down on the Baptist or any other denomination -- I'm not. Christ will build and use His Church. The New Covenant Church will prevail.

If you must label me, call me a Believer...

Yea, that's the ticket.
Thank IO. I consider myself labelled.

I heard some good quotes.

Baptist drink all night on Saturday and go to church on Sunday and ask God for forgiveness.

All Catholics have to do is talk to some man in a box, and you can drink all week.

I was thinking on the way home, today. I know that in itself is scary, but I was thinking that religion is like the President pardoning you for murder.

Oh by the way, you are pardoned, but you have to come to the white house on Sunday, put on this mask, hear a guilt trip speech about "change", keep on asking for forgiveness, etc.

That's what religion is...

Now that would be religion.

Gracious God,
We pray for peace in our communities this day.
We commit to you all who work for peace and an end to tensions,
And those who work to uphold law and justice.
We pray for an end to fear,
For comfort and support to those who suffer.
For calm in our streets and cities,
That people may go about their lives in safety and peace.
In your mercy, hear our prayers,
now and always. Amen
