So Blairsville customers will need to go there for phone problems I guess. Can't believe with all the verizon phones here that they closed the stores. Thank you.

I have been a Verizon customer since 1997. I am switching to Wal-Mart straight Talk. 40% saving over two phones and service.

I did that a few months ago, switched from at-t to net10 at walmart. They use the same lines as at-t and a whole lot cheaper.

Straight Talk is great. I drop ATT in November. Just wish I had done it earlier unlimited everything for less than I was paying with ATT.

yep me and my family have straight talk also, i use the 30 $ plan for 1000 min and 1000 text service is good and phones seem to last several years also. and if you already have an at&t phone you can buy a 15$ sim card to put in it and you get the straight talk service for 45$ that way you can keep your nice phone. great deal

They were a total of 5 stores that closed down and a lot of hard workers lost their jobs, because of people going to Walmart and getting the cheapest possible stuff and then going into the Verizon stores moaning and groaning about what they did purchase at Walmart and how the Walmart employees didn't know anything or help them, without purchasing anything from the actual Verizon store. So they had no other option than to close. thanks to the big box retailer another local business (that has been here for over 10 years) has been shut down. Next time you go into Walmart think how any people that has lost jobs to them that only employs part time at minimum wage so they don't have to fork out any benefits. Many people don't believe but think about it. It does nothing good for anyone!

Straight talk uses at&t and verizon towers. I would think if they wee worried about the competition they would not allow this. I too dislike walmart, but sometimes there is a better alternative.

That's one of the things wrong with this country. You think corporate America cares about the smaller businesses, they only care about the bottom dollar. Not who gets hurt along the way. Doesn't matter if people lose their jobs or anything for that matter as long as they are raking it in. Small people don't seem to stand a chance anymore.....

The five stores that closed was Simply Wireless! A retailer for Verizon that was small business!!! People just don't get it. And if you don't understand how these things work, you shouldn't be posting about it! Maybe you shouldn't even have a cell phone.

I heard the owner was a horrible businessman and done the employees pretty dirty. I did all of my business there and the employees were great. They stayed busy enough to stay open but it is my understanding that the owner drive his business into the ground with a "spiral of bad and selfish decisions". One of the former employees informed me that the owner blamed it on the economy but it was really poor decisions on his part. It's a shame the workers of that company who created and supported the owners wealth and success were done so dirty. They were good people.

I did the same thing today.. I have been with Verizon for years. Now that they closed the store and with their pricing it just made sense.
