Wife got a call on cell - recording claiming to be from UCB saying debit card had been lost or stolen and to respond by providing certain information.

Did not, of course. Went by bank to report/inquire.

Was informed of current scam involving such calls to this area.

Be informed.

Just a bit more information.

The caller ID for the incoming number only shows the number 9.

The recording asks you to press #1 to be connected to security, you then receive another recording saying basically that if you would like to reactive your card to press the # 1.

At that point, I guess they ask for the essential information ... card # etc. Donít really know, she (my Wife) hung up at that point.

UCB is aware - says issue is being investigated.

Same thing happened to my teenage daughter, thankful she hung up, an came and asked us.

I got the same call on my cell today. The bank told me that they have been getting calls all afternoon from customers and non-customers about this and it is a scam....

My son in law got that same call today..Knowing about this I received a call from a number 1000 only..figured it was the same stuff so I didn't even answer..dumb fools..
