Personally, I would not own a vehicle with dark tinted windows. They would render my use of the extended middle finger (otherwise known as the New Jersey Salute) towards careless drivers, practically useless.
That's hilarious, Zoltar! But I must take issue with the Jersey origin... certainly it must have been learned from their neighbors in NEW YORK!!

No, Sheriff Mason has a problem with chicken sh*t deputies hiding behind darken windows.

Sheriff Mason knows that to enforce any laws you first have to obey the laws.
It's that simple.

Tonight, I was in town and noticed how many vehicles have tinting as dark if not darker than the patrol cars. Many of the vehicles are from Florida.
Will Mason hold drivers accountable for window tinting that is too dark? I sure hope so.

If I plan on harming the Officer that pulls me over...I'm gonna do it regardless of whether my windows are tinted or not. Plus by Ga law only the Driver and passenger windows need to be in compliance...the rest of the windows can be as dark as desired!

A person will get a fix-it-ticket and a fine. No one goes to court unless they try to appeal the ticket.

Dark tinted windows is an issue Mason came up with. He needs to follow through all the way.
Courts will be flooded...mark my words. Mason will tax us to death with petty tickets which do nothing to "Protect and Serve". I have dark Tint because my eyes are sensitive to the bright Sun...and I have a state certified excuse notorized by my Optometrist to have Darker than normal Window Tint. If I am ticked I will certainly be in court to appeal. Even if i did not have an eye issue...I personally enjoy my privacy within my car and I firmly believe dark Tint deters the low life's and drug users from breaking into my car because they can't see the contents of my vehicle.

Wait till your T boned while you are looking down at your text message instead of looking left and right!:)

There is a reason new cars do not come with pimped out windows.....

texting has nothing to do with it....but wait until you get T-boned and the glass shards pierce you face. At least all my glass will fall right on the pavement on my sheet of Tint.

Sheriff Mason has 2 major crimes too worry about. One is tinted windows, that is about to consume him. The other is some guy from Atlanta riding his motorcycle fast on Hwy. 60. He'll have a task force out there for that. Other crimes in the county are only a nuisance...

Dumbass; have you ever actually been to the scene of an accident? All glass in All vehicles is safety glass.

You could be right about the Jersey origin. I tend to believe that the gesture began back in the early 1900's as automobiles became more numerous and the "flip-off" was more effective than the ooo-gah horn.

Have you? Because my friend you are wrong. Only the Windshield normally is safety glass, but some Dodge models have installed safety glass on the driver and passenger sides. Go back to Florida....Floridiot. I have installed Window film for nearly a decade and I'm pretty much an expert.

The window tinting thread has gotton out of hand. Mason appears to be focusing on just county patrol vehicles. Just one issue that probably will be addressed after Jan 01. Real issues that affect the well being of the citizens of Union county should be on the plate first. If we demand that the Sheriff address each and every minor violatin ( burnt out license plate bulb) etc, will not be effective in rallying all voters around our new Sheriff.

Sheriff Elect Mason is not going to waste a whole lot of time on window tint. He will probably create an intenal policy or standrd that defines which SO vehicles can have window tint and tha will be that. I do not care about window tint but I do care about who rides in official vehicles. Personally I hope and I'm sure he will develop a written policy that defines how the vehicles can be used on and off duty.

The speeding problem on Rt.60 is something we have all witnessed. I ride a motorcycle but I do my best to obey the speed limit. The bike riders that use the curves on our County roads as their own personal racetrack need to be ticketed or arrested, period end of discusson.

Give the man a chance. I do not know him personally, but I have high hopes. If he fails to do the job we all expect we can vote him out.

It's YOU that are the idiot. I have been to hundreds of auto accidents and I know a great deal about car windows. The front windshield must be LAMINATED safety glass and all the rest must be SAFETY glass of any kind just like I said . Safety glass can be ANY kind that doesn’t shatter into shards; it's the LAW dumbass. You need to get out of the business if after 10 years you still don't know what safety glass is.

Those who claim that the sunlight bothers them, get a pair of those huge sunglasses designed for those with sunlight issues. Commaonly referred to as "Buick" glasses. Always see a puff of hair below the steering wheel with the glasses on... LOL
