I have used Angel Food Ministries in the past, and in this economy, i'm in need of using them again. I called House of Prayer, whom I used before, and they are no longer a host site. Does anyone know another church in our area or close to Blairsville where you can participate in Angel Food Mins?

It seems that Angel Food inistries has looked at the nature of some of the sheep, targeted (3) of their most predominant traits:
laziness, foolishness and misguided faith and capitolized on it with a business model of providing prepackaged food at huge markups.

Don't believe me.... Go to their website, download some of their specials, and go shopping at Kroger, Walmart etc. See how much more you could ave simply by going to the Grocery and shopping wisely.

Angel Food Ministries is on the other hand not even paying the price for product that you find in the grocery. Like a Grocery, they are buying in huge bulk at much much steeper discounts. It seems that the "God Of Angel Food Ministries" demands a higher profit margin for "helping people spend MORE On Food" than even traditional groceries.

Did our Lord not say, "Many shall come in my name saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

Foolish Sheep... Do you think that if this was of God, that you would be charged MORE for your food as a method of helping you?

Go and seek wisdom, and perhap you will learn to feed yourself.

Peace,

Antioch church is not a distro point for AFN, but they do have food distro there. For AFN, go to angelfoodministries.com and search on your zip code. Suggest you expand your search range to 30 miles for better results. I have never found a better value for my money than AFN x

This is NOT true. I use Angel Food monthly and I save WAY more and eat way better than going into a traditional grocery store. I can spend $200 at Angel Food and feed my family of 5 for a month. Try that at the grocery store!!!! We eat chicken, steak, a variety of vegetables, etc. and all are resturaunt quality foods. Very good food. I am thankful for Angel Food Ministries!!

And to Angel, I go to Murphy for my pick-up at the First United Methodist Church.

In 2006, the ministry reported revenue of $96 million dollars and $17 million in expenses. Tax records from that year show the Wingos and two of their sons earned a combined total in excess of $2.1 million for leading the ministry, up from just less than a combined $323,000 a year earlier. Their combined salaries dipped to $501,472 in 2007, records showed.[4]

A lawsuit filed February 2009 in a Georgia Superior Court in Walton County, alleged that the Wingos used the nonprofit organization to enrich themselves from food vendors and by rerouting money to themselves through their church, Emmanuel Praise Center.[15] Craig Atnip and David Prather,[16] two Angel Food Ministry board members filed the suit against the Wingos, and the suit asked a judge to bar Joe and Linda Wingo and their two sons from the property of the organization and to protect the assets of the ministry. The suit alleged that the Wingos enriched themselves by at least $2.7 million, which includes $600,000, which was allegedly given to the Wingos for a "housing allowance," directed from Angel Food Ministry to their church.[15] The lawsuit also claimed that the food buyer for Angel Food Ministry, Andy Wingo, habitually took kickbacks as part of transactions with food vendors and that at least one ]]family]] member knew about it.[17] The suit also alleged that Joe Wingo set up a North Carolina corporation to buy a personal jet and then leased the jet to Angel Food Ministries for a profit of $10,000 a month. The suit additionally alleged the Wingos used the Angel Food credit cards and spent more than $850,000 for personal possessions.[15] Angel Food Ministries offered its full cooperation in the investigation and voluntarily agreed to provide any records the government wished to examine.[18] The two board members who sued the nonprofit and the Wingos have came to an agreement in Walton County, Ga., Superior Court. The agreement approved by the court, the Wingos' company credit cards will be canceled, the nonprofit will undergo a forensic financial audit, and Joe Wingo will sign over to Angel Food a company he owns that was renting the corporate jet to the nonprofit organization. The two board member who filed the suit agreed to leave the organization as a part of the deal[15] and Angel Food must pay $45,000 in Atnip's and Prather's legal fees.[16] They will retain standing to take any actions when the forensic audit comes in. Joe Wingo and his son, Wesley, will retain their roles at the agency. During the hearing, attorneys said Linda Wingo left her position last year and son Andy left in late 2007.[15]In their June settlement, both sides agreed the audit would be kept under seal of the court.

Angel Food's Feb. 1 filing also claims the defendants have complied with all other provisions of the June 19 court order, which was modified slightly on Oct. 1.

Angel Food, the filing said, has eliminated all personal use of Angel Food credit cards by the Wingos; arranged for Angel Food to lease an airplane owned by North Carolina Aviation Leasing from under supervision of the Angel Food board, with no personal use allowed; paid Atnip $282,693 and continues to pay him $13,461.54 twice a month; and paid plaintiffs' counsel $45,000.

Messages left for attorneys representing Atnip and Prather were not returned.

Agents from the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service searched the Angel Food headquarters last February and copied files, but government sources have released no news about any investigation since.

Ask Timmy and Adams for ideas.

They say there are no residents in Union County that are not completely self-sufficient and nobody needs help at any time for any reason.

Maybe they will share the secret of avoiding hard times with you, and us all.

I sure don't know it.

Why don't you ask the commissioner what you should do. Lamar Paris does not think we are in hard times and he has a spend, spend, spend mind set on all these frivolous projects.

But... hang in there better times will be here as soon as he completes his palace on the hill. It will solve all your problems.

Maybe he will give you a hand out just like he does to all his cronnies that are tied to his purse string.

Foolish sheep. Not only are you being fleeced, you are supporting that which is at war with wisdom, and therefore at war with that which is good, and of God.

Follow the dark shepherds if you will. You will not return from the dry land. I have called and you did not hear. You were shown the truth, and you could not grasp it.

Excerpt: The dream of the shepherds and the flock
http://tinyurl.com/3zbqr68

There was a great field and I stood at a side next to a gate. The pathway leading from the gate was steep, rocky and rough. Nothing really grew there. The presence of God was with me. Across the field was another gate, and the path that led from it was full of the lushest, greenest grass. The path was flat and wide and smooth. The grass sparkled with cool dew.

He ck MV, the lady is looking to put food on the table for her family. Her situation is money, not her salvation. Like a lot of people in this bad economy they need food and live on a tight budget.
Not everyone who needs help qualify for food stamps.
Buying good food from the cheapest source does not mean she supports the people who are crooking Angel ministries. The IRS will take care if those people.

It seems that the simple common sense concept of the fact that this "Ministry" is charging MORE FOR FOOD than a person would expect to pay if they simply shopped wisely at just about any given Grocery Store eludes you.

They are SELLING things like "Cordon Bleu Stuffed Chicken Breast" that THEY BUY,and then markup for resale.

it ISN'T a ministry of God.... it is a business of Wolves.

If you want to "Help the Needy" that can afford to write checks to this organization for enormousamounts to get very little, then gab them by the arm, drag them to the local supermarket, and say,

"Look spoiled and foolish sheep - there is food here that is cheaper than what you are paying. Buy in bulk. Cut back on expensive non essetials. Learn about nutrition. Andin somecases, you might add that they are clinically above the medical definition of obesity, and should probably eat less."

And then you could grab them by their arm, and drag them back homeand point out the little patc of grass, or the space on their deck, and say - "Look! A place for a salad garden!"

If you want to help the needy, give them healthy food, teach them to shop wisely, or to grow a garden. If your "Ministry" is going to SELL them food.... at least get the prices down below what you could buy at a standard Grocery.

Focus on the agricultural network of the region. Soon it is all you will have. So many of you will die simply from foolishness in the days to come.

THIS is why the Farmers Market is such an abomination in Blairsville - because it could have been so much more. If anyone of even the wisdom of a kindergardner had been involved, then such great things could have been done for what was spent.

Imagine what could have been done if an old building had been renovated and updated to create a combo indoor/outdoor regional agricutlural market.

Electronics and Technology to give low income food stamps recipients (1 in 7 people) a place to spend their money locally, get healthy & fresh produce and meats, and the local farmers get a much higher return, and all the state/federal money that gets spilled into the region STAYS in the region- instead of shipping it back out via Walmart or other chain grocery.

You could have created refrigerated storage for farmer crops (extended shelf life / greater profit) or you could have actually had a Cannery that put everything on shelves.

You could have supported a local Dairy, Cheese, Meat community. You could have laid the foundation for being prepared for the storm that is coming. You could even have had an overflow network to provide free or discount HEALTHY food to those in need.

But you got screwed. Lamar screwed you,and all the rest that run the town & county. You know who they are.

Foolish Sheep. You are going to die in the days to come. You have followed, and you continue to follow, dark shepherds.

People make up their own minds about their needs and what they can afford. They also make up their own minds where and what they buy. If the lady says she can buy cheaper at Angel ministries after she has shopped local grocery stores then I expect she knows what she is talking about. I personally know one small bag of food at Ingles will set me back about $20. Only enough food for 2 for about 2 days.

As for the Dream of the Shepherds, that sounds a lot like plagiarism from Pilgrims Progress to me.
Christian had his hands full working out his own salvation without butting his nose into others problems, maybe you should pay heed to Christians path.

Don't believe everything you see today and your memory could be playing tricks on you, too. You might remember things in a distorted or false way, through no fault of your own. You may also be reading too much into the situations that are going on around you, making it hard for you to know what's really happening. Try not to make any big decisions today because you simply aren't thinking straight.
