The horse is not dead. For all the people in this County, who could give a rats butt about a horse barn, I have to say it is an injustice to take their hard earned tax dollars and pay for something like this. I believe most County residents did not want a horse barn. How many counties in Georgia have a tax supported horse barn anyway? Maybe none, except Union. Before you vote for SPLOST4, think about it. Lamar will continue to use it for his own political purposes if you give it to him again.

There are tons of these in Georgia and other states. Campaign hard against SPLOST. ignorant dumbasses like you campaigning against this do nothing but convince people with brains to get out and vote for the only fair means of taxation we have.

And what makes you think SPLOST is a fair taxation?

You vote for what you are told the money will be spent on than the COMMISSIONER spends it any way he pleases.

Is that what you call fair taxation?

This money is being spent foolishly and not on what the county actually needs. All the needs that were voted on were scrapped or were put on hold.

You are a very bright person. Glad to see someone in this community that sees what is really going on with the SPLOST money.

Keep up your fight.

Do you know the definition of insanity? It's when you do the same shit over and over expecting a different result. Sound familiar?

As long as we have Obama Jr. running OUR County, I will be out there fighting.

Care to join in the fight or be in the same mess this Nation is in. To much spending and not enough care about how the people are going to pay for it in the long run.

If you think regressive taxation is fair, you are wrong. It lets the rich off scott free and hurts the people who need the money for living expenses. The poor paying the same as the rich, i say this is not fair at all.

Thomas Edison tried thousands of times to invent a light bulb before he succeeded. The people who do not keep trying always fail. ACOG put a lot of documented data on here that is true, it would be wise for this community to pay attention.

Union County did not vote for a tax supported horse barn. The vote was for bleachers, fencing and a tractor for $150,000.

Lamar Paris threw the covered arena in AFTER the county voted and spent close to $600,000.

There were many bait and switches AFTER the County Voted. This is what the voters need to be aware. The money IS NOT being used for what it was intended at the time of the vote.

SPLOST could be a good thing IF it was being used for the necessities of Union County, like the jail and transfer station but it is not and will not as long as Lamar is in charge of YOUR MONEY.

I guess he believes in OPM -- Other People's Money. Next thing he'll run for a higher office since he has that Democrat mindset.

It is not a horse barn? If it were and it was run by the county it would be called a Boarding Barn. "Horse Barns" are privately owned barns. This is called a Saddle Club/Riding Club. It is where those who have horses and participate in horse related activities can go. A LOT of people in this county want a saddle club. The FFA has a rodeo every summer and everyone loves it. They also would love to be able to work and watch in an actual arena. The people who do not want this arena built are those who would rather slice off the mountains and chop down the trees that define our beautiful home to create parks with walking trails and picnic tables. We don't need anymore of that. People move here because of the quaintness of the mountain life and then try to change it to fit in with where they came from. This is a rural area. If you don't like our activities, what we do with our time, how we live our life, and what we spend our money on go back where you came from. This is our way of life. You came here because you liked it. Stop whining about it. If you have lived here all your life and you still don't like it, go somewhere else. One less complainer won't hurt our feelings one bit!

Dammit. Thomas Edison at least tried different materials. ACOG keeps doing exactly the same crap. Wow. This level of thinking is all that Lamar has against him, fortunately. Putting this bunch in their place requires about the same energy level as swatting a flea.

Well said, indeed.
Every word is true and I commend you.
But, most of the complainers moved here because they "thought" they liked it, but they isolate themselves, bitch like hell, and really don't like much of anything except other people who think the way they do. Ya gotta be 'in love' with the county not just 'love' it.
