My ENTIRE backyard is a friggin' lake, y'all! Its right along side of the Coosa Creek. RV Resort is totally under water, too. How are all you folks fairing along?

I got caught in that storm on my motorcycle. It was a bad one. I waited for 2 hours in town then said what the hell. Rode back anyway, got soaked and when I got home at the northern end of Union County, we haven't had but a sprinkle.

It was pretty intense, no doubt. Lots of lightning strikes from every which way. Not to mention the hail. We had pea sized pellets that lasted a solid 20 mins or so. Ain't it strange how storms can be down right terrible in one place, while a mile up the road is silent as can be. I don't envy your motor cycle ride you took today, Mr. Ivylog. Lol

You must not be from here. Congratulations on your new lake front property. I guess the real-estate people forgot to mention "Friggin Lake."

I wondered how Coosa Creek is. After work, I traveled down the old Blueridge Hwy. I saw a lot of water flowing down hill towards Coosa. Then the bottom dropped out.

RV Resort is smack dab in a flood plain. Not surprising that it flooded. The locals have seen it happen over the years. Flooding happens and will continue to happen in that area. One consultation, the flood won't last for 40 days and 40 nights.

Since lovely Windstream was down all day yesterday, I wasn't able to report on Coosa Creek until today. It came within 2 feet of our 9 foot bank but overflowed on our neighbor's lower bank. We had over 6" of rain, pea-sized hail, but not much wind.

We shot a few minutes of the flooding and aired it on Ridgeline TV Channel 99. You can view the footage on our website: www.ridgelinetv.net .
