Anyone seen the mess on town square. I came through today and could hardly get around the square. Why didn't the Mayor and council go and build themselves another town and leave ours alone? Their won't be anywhere to park at all now.

Oh, shut up! There are so many beautiful things to look at so stop wasting people's time with bitching about the square. Go around it if you don't like it.

Well Dufus I would say you are one of those idiots that cut all the trees on the mountain side so you can look at another mountain side. Don't know about everyone else but I'll drive through it any damn way I choose and you can just go around. In a couple of years everyone will be looking at their old pictures of the square and asking what happened.

Noticed the contractors are from out of town. When attempting to talk to one of the workers, quickly realized he didn't speak english. Wondering why local contractors didn't get the work

I'm glad they are fixing it up and giving it a new look. To the first idiot, it's not hard to drive through there if you got enough sense to keep your car between the cones. A little construction now will be worth it when it's done.

When did you see a bid for the work on the square. How about the work on the building across from FoodLand. I think you may have over stepped your knowledge there.

Foodie I would be careful who I called an idiot if I didn't have any more sense than you. And just what makes you think it is fixing it up. Some people like to preserve the heritage of the town and perhaps you will like walking since you will not be able to park anymore. If you want a tensile town then move to Helen or Dahlonega.

I agree it needs remodeling, but tonight is the Downtown Block Party and that is why everything was upside down for a few days.

Stop bitching and join in the community. You might enjoy yourself.

Heritage? It is a state highway and the only heritage was ruined years ago by gravel and big trucks during the housing bomb. Remember 7 or 8 McClure trucks lined up waiting to turn at the intersection near Bi-Lo?

Who is going to the block party. There will be lots of familiar faces and activities.

Walking is good for you!

I guess your right. We need to tear down that old building in the center. The one that doesn't have a bathroom and build a new modern building with a grill and souvenir shop for all those tourist that are going to flock here to see a bunch of brick.. You know they have never seen bricks before. The store keepers will certainly be happy that they don't have to park people at their shops any more. I'm sure when it's raining and 20 degrees that people will walk a half mile just to say they shopped at the old courthouse. What ever happened to good sense.

This is the beginning of the end. The city has gotten away from doing the job they were elected to do and doing what they want to do. The DDA is nothing but a way to get around electing people who can he held accountable. This is a very important election. Vote wisely. Look at just what has and hasn't been done. Look at the debt the citizens have been encumbered with. Look at what you are getting for your vote. More of the same is more of the same.

Reb has been predicting gloom and doom ever since Wayne Colwell got voted out of office. I'm sorry, son, but your glory days are long past. Just hitch over to the DP bench and watch the rest of us doing something positive with this town.

My guess is that your one of the dumb A$$ councilman or their spouse. Wayne Colwell was a man with a little vision which is something none of our present politicians have. You may do something but then again you may get sent home. Just so happens that Wayne Colwell's heirs are some of the biggest land owners in the city and you sit there and belittle him. Maybe you will learn to eat you stupid remarks. The reason Head and Nelson worked so hard against him is that they couldn't tell him what to do and their just happens to be a few others in this town they can't control.
