Yep, will be there. Thanks for sponsoring what should be an informative and interesting meeting.

Regardless, of the sour grape disgruntled obstructionist opposition to the effort to provide a better, more professional law enforcement agency for our community, I’m sure, many will attend, if only out of curiosity, despite their irrational ravings.

At any rate those speakers attending are providing a service to our communities in agreeing to provide us information, and the opportunity to hear and question them.

As far as those brooding agitators, why haven’t you encouraged these type meetings over the past twelve (12) years. For once, stop, look, listen and try to find something positive that may be helpful to the community, rather than consistently being a grouch grumbling and spreading ill will.

The democrats are the cowards, how many forums did Scott Stephens show up for??? He would not even show up at the local FM station and make use of 15 minutes of FREE airtime to respond to the same questions ask of Mack. Democrats except for Lamar would never debate the other Republican candidates because they were in power and thought they did not have to answer to the voters. I guess they heard from the voters this time!!!
Bet you did not know

I hope someone will ask Mack that if a outside LE agency wants to come in and investigate corruption in our County and City Govt. will he allow them.

All sheriffs attending - Union, Towns, and Cherokee NC were professional and informative in their responses, also exibited mutual agreement in the issues addressed, as well as high levels of coordination and cooperation in their reciprocal enforcement activities.

Large crowd, excepional interests, questions and responses.

You should have been there, those not attending missed an excellent forum, at a loss only to themselves.

Man… Try to keep up.
All the posts are here, Topix just mislabeled the page series.

And go back to around November, and look up all the chatter about Brackett, and the lady, in that office. There are numerous threads that can bore you to death for hour addressing that.

If you want to know what’s going on you’re going to have to put forth a little effort. It’s not like they are going to actually put it in the newspaper you know. And if they did you would have to go back and read it.

Goodness knows everyone doesn’t want to have to suffer through all that ad nauseam again.

Why did the TEA PARTEE have the meeting on the same evening as the State of the Union Address?
Huh? No, I'm not an Obama fan. Yes, Obama talked about what interests him most -- Obama! He didn't mention all the important events that are concerning many of us -- like embassy attacks, the military, the American Heroes, wars, the Middle East, etc. Still, it was worth watching.

Guess, these little mountain people don't care what happens in the rest of the country, only their rural paradise where a rolling meth lab, a couple DUIs, and unlicensed drivers are hauled in.

Wow.

What's the problem? Yep, I made the meeting, shot the bull afterwards, and still got home in time to watch Obama's lips moving.

Meaning of course he was lying.

For those who didn’t attend the forum at the civic center Tuesday night, you missed an excellent meeting.

Sheriffs from Union and Towns County Georgia, as well as the Sheriff from Cherokee County NC spoke, and all provided excellent information; from our 2nd Amendment rights to bear arms and their intentions to enforce those rights within our respective States, and Counties, to further addressing gun rights in general.

I observed an exceptional rapport among the Sheriffs exhibiting mutual purpose, respect, cooperation, and coordination of the agencies.

In general misdemeanors, felonies, traffic, drugs, and the drug task force were also discussed.

Sheriff Mason discussed the state of transition from the former administration to his administration taking place the early morning of January 1, 2013.

A brief synopsis of difficulties encountered with locating and inventorying assets, tracking and securing records was described. Sheriff Mason informed us of initial administrative, and personnel actions taken early on, as well as additional actions planned in his efforts to improve services, efficiency, and reduction of costs.

Our new Sheriff was in uniform, made an impressive professional and statistically enlightening speech, and in my view would make Union County proud, no matter where he may be invited to speak.

There were over 200 folks in the crowd, and everyone appeared to appreciate the knowledge and responses from them all.

As the meeting ended, and people milled about, there appeared to be a general attitude that with Sheriff Mason, and the Towns and Cherokee County Sheriffs we may very well be entering a new era where we may once again have the opportunity to build a basic level of trust and confidence in our Union County, and surrounding Sheriff’s Departments.

Very informative post. Isn't it a great feeling to vote for a man that doesn't disappoint you after he takes office.

Yes. A true Patriot's holiday. Valentine's Day? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

I'm sure Mason was a big hit - he is old, retired, and likes people from Florida.

I'm sure Mason didn't ask for the Q&A -- I'll bet he was INVITED.
