Did you look at the list of arrests in this week's paper. Now, the list looked long and impressive until your read it and realize the UCSO tagged a bunch of Boy Scouts for 1 oz. of weed. Come on! Nothing significant, just a bunch of BS.
The department can't even find the SOB who killed that poor old goat!
. Guess u did not read the paper they arrested 3 boys that and charged one of them with killing it

Actually the pay is based on what the commissioner says, Did you know that the city cops get paid more per hour than the county? So are we saying that the city cops' lifes are worth more than the county? Have you seen the pay rate for the county cops?

Mason has nothing to do with that, the commissioner pays the county employees, the sheriff doesn't say ok Hey there, "X" you get $XX. and hey there "Z" you only get $XX. No the commissioner sets the pay rates, and if Mack doesn't or anyone doesn't agree they have to convince the commission to change the pay rate.

So why did the guy get fired then? Maybe he wasn't doing his job? Maybe he picked the wrong side of the fight and went public trying to help influence the election. Maybe that backfired. Lots of people need to work and need the insurance. So to this "guy" and to you and to all the other pigs slopping at the public feed trough - get used to it. You are not OWED anything that any other citizen is. Only difference is too many public servants are spending more time serving themselves. I am sure Mack has a good reason for every person fired. If I recall - some not only asked for it - they said they'd quit. Maybe Mack is just helping them stay true to their words.
I agree Mason had a reason to fire everyone of those guys and there was many they quit. And to the other guy,If you quit your job YOU DONT GET UNEMPLOYMENT BENIFITS, just because you don't like your new boss.

So, its ok if we are boy scouts to smoke a oz of weed? That isn't significant? Those kids "boy scouts" might be dealing crack or meth or whatever else they want to smoke later on, and then you can bitch about it then. I am pretty sure that it doesn't matter if its a seed or a 10000 pds worth, its still illegal. You still go to jail. Breaking the law is breaking the law, not matter who is doing it or how much it is. Get a clue.

Hey excellent goals. Especially the goal of attacking Drug trafficing and usage. We are losing the next generation to drug usage.
Following is what Sheriff Arpaio is doing to work with and get communities involved with the safety of their community.
Movie Star Steven Seagal Joins Sheriff Joe Arpaio to Train Armed ĎPosseí as School Guards.

If you're not aware of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, check out this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio
We have to get involved in supporting our Sheriff....he can't do it alone, nor should he have to.
If some of the whiney babies that constantly complain about our Sheriff would become part of the solution rather then part of the problem, this community would be a much better place in which to live.
Show your support for our Sheriff and/or complain to his face, this coming Tuesday 2/12 at 7pm at the Civic Center. Sheriff Mack Mason will be speaking with Q&A following. Everyone is welcome and feel free to tell and bring others.
I'm glad you live in la la land with movie stars. And as far as comparing elect sheriff Joe Arpaio, that's a joke. I might could compare him Barney Fife. No, Barney has more sense.

Him and his wife were doing their job and were cut loose for no reason. The S.O.B could have at least kept his wife so they would have insurance for his treatments.

Well I can tell you why, her fiance voted for elect sheriff and worked to get more votes and the elect sheriff promised to get her a job. And this was after the last sheriff hired his daughter to work at the SO, what a friend?!

You are a dumbshit. I know the reason, Truthis Blairsville knows the reason. We know these people. You obviously don't. That's the problem with people who post about what a wonderful person Mason is, they don't know him, don't know the history behind the UCSO, and don't know the employees or how Mason plays into the scenario. It is clueless comments like this that shows you are a horse's ass for commenting about something you know nothing about. Mason is a prick! He holds grudges. You'll soon find out on your own. Ta Ta

ok I want to know what corruption was going on in the Probate Office. Did this person go to GBI and report it, or were they just after Judges job. Back up what you say. So they were fired by Bracket then they should not be afraid to tell it on here, so lets hear it. I want facts, not just innuendos.

You need to keep up, if you are interested in whatís going on.

Yep, thatís just the way it is. All this about the judgeís office has been covered already, to the point of revulsion.

To occasionally obtain a factual bit of usable information from this site you must be willing to wade through ridiculous and sometimes rather disgusting trash for weeks and months on end.
Thatís just the way it is, in a town without any reliable news sources.(i.e. unbiased investigative newspaper, radio, or TV media reporting)

Personally,(with regard to other postings) informational meetings offered having a Q & A following, in an environment such as we have here, should be a welcomed forum for anyone sincerely interested in the betterment of a community.

It doesnít matter who sponsors the forum. Go listen, learn, complain, ask questions, get answers, and then you may have something upon which to base a legitimate grievance.

Otherwise, you are just another jerk trying to stir up trouble.

Regarding the New Sheriff, in just over a month, He has obviously made many changes. Some following through with campaign promises, others in personnel, and not to be unexpected modifications to the administration and operations of the department.

Other than irrational adversaries naturally politically attached to the former Sheriff, a reasonable person would realize, it will take a realistic time frame to assess the satisfaction or lack thereof with the performance of the New Sheriff.

One thing is for certain, this is the second month of his administration, and he is offering and making himself available to the public for meeting, not once but twice within the same month, to speak and take questions and give answers.

I could be mistaken, but during the twelve (12) year term of the former Sheriff, I donít recall him making himself so available, even when beseeched to do so in the most controversial of circumstances.

BS. Mason could have a Q&A without being a guest of the Tea Party. It is logical he would choose that group because they are his cheerleaders. Mason is a Republican and was supported by Republicans. I still think his choice of venue is wrong and he'll lack support as a result. Actually, he has lost support already by many because of what he has done in the past two months and the disregard for several of USCO's employees.
