I LOVE going there to eat, but there is something I don't understand and maybe Mike himself or an employee can help me understand. Why is it that people can't sit and have their orders taken? There are waitresses there and Im sure they would make better tips if this was the case. Most people don't even realize that there is a seperate menu (paper menu) aside from the 2 boards. Like I said, I love the food, and Im not trying to bash Mike's - it's just something I've wondered about.

I agree! I feel so rushed when i'm having to make a decison at the counter. And i've never got to really look at the menu and decide, I always pick something and go with it because I feel people are waiting on me to order. I'm with you though, i love Mike's but wish they would let you sit down and take your time to decide on his delish seafood!

Ask Mike, he is there every night the restaurant is open. Seriously. I would like to know the reason, too.

Although, with the tipping part, the gang shares evening tips.
So tip well becqause those girls run their legs off.

all those girls do is serve the food. you get your own drinks and you pay at the counter. its faster that way. the girls probably make more money running the food than being a waitress. Mike would have to pay them waitress wages , which is very low. So, if they make min wage, it's better.

The main reason is Mike is a ass hole! I hope he looses his ass, and from the looks of it, his business is going down. He was not much of a plumber when he came here and does not do a good job in the rest business either. And to top it off he is a drunk. Always smell alcohol on him.

Sounds like you didn't perform your job very well, so he fired you.

I doubt they make more at minimum wage than they would at a waitress salary with tips. My daughters waitress at a restaurant in town, and average $100 a day in tips alone. That's in 8 hours. Way more than minimum wage, even without their waitress pay.

I hate to be the one to break it to you but she's not bringing home that moola from tipping tables. She's turning tricks. I bet she'll even let you play as long as you can pay.

I was buying some fish from him and instead of taking one of the pieces he'd just put out he dug to the bottom. That shows you alot about how a person does business.
I also found about 8 bones in one filet.
Don't need to support his business....

It is true. A good waitress can make that much in tips per day.
Ignore the ugly comments. A busy restaurant and a good waitress = great tips. If my bill is $20 and I like my waitress and know her, I give her $10. I always tip well. A lot of people do. So times that by how many customers per day. Easily $100 in tips.

BTW, there is a wonderful lady who works at a fast food drive thru window where I stop for coffee or tea - I'm giving her a WalMart gift card because she has become one of my favorite hard-working service people in town.

We know what kind of women you've been around! L-o-s-e-r!
I posted that and I'm a woman. I appreciate those hard-working waitresses at restaurants I patronize. I always give them extra because they take good care of me and my guests. It pays to tip well and be kind to your server.

Not all AOL posts are mine - lots of people subscribe to AOL. I change my name for the fun of it. I know y'all know who is posting by my writing style and tongue-in-cheek annoying posts.
I laugh at those who take all this so seriously and get so outraged, holding grudges, and flying off the handle. This is playtime for me - not an addiction.
