Ironic that the 'forum' was held the same day as the State of the Union Address. Now, I'm no fan of Obama, but, come on, Tea Party and local law enforcement, isn't this a bit obvious.

I'm a Republican but find the Tea Party in Union County pathetic. Truthfully, the GOP in Union is weak and very uninteresting because it is comprised of Florida people, a good many retired old conservatives who haven't accomplished sqat.

What's the problem? Yep, I made the meeting, shot the bull afterwards, and still got home in time to watch Obama's lips moving.

Meaning of course he was lying.

Seems you're just not happy if you're not bellyaching.

Get over yourself.

It was changed so everyone could celebrate Valentines Day with their loved ones.

Mack and our surrounding sheriffs were a hit and we are proud to have them. To bad it took this long to get Stephens out and have a real sheriff take his place.

Just think those Florida "people" are fixing to take over the "good ole boys town" Mack did a great job in putting some on the force.

Of course, Mason wasn't lying?
No belly aching, but pointing out why Tea Baggers aren't taken seriously.

Valentine's Day - yes! The true patriots holiday. LMBO

Yep, it was a real pleasue to attend a meeting with such well-meaning people.

It appears to me that only those, who consistently whine, grumble, and generally express deleterious ill will is someone who isnít taken seriously.

Upon this site you, to my knowledge, have never made a positive comment contributing to any issue, nor have you provided one shred of justification, evidence, or logically suitable thought processes to remotely lead anyone, in anyway, to seriously consider anything other than possibly your lack of mental capacity and sanity.

You should come out to one of the meetings. But of course that would involve meeting some of the people you degrade with names like "tea baggers". Oh well, much easier to remain hidden and bitch about everyone else. Attitudes like these are why "douche baggers" (good for the goose)are afraid to check it out for themselves

Hell, I know Mason. Why would I want to go to a meeting and hear what I already know. I don't agree with the man and never will.
Mason is retired and he is older, but he needs the limelight. When he retired, he didn't have control over people's lives and was no longer "important." People don't get it. Being sheriff in UC isn't for the community, it is the feed his ego. Mason needed to find a place where he could, again, enforce peons' behavior and make himself feel relevant.

I saw the pictures from this morning's breakfast. Jesus H. Christ, it looked like breakfast at a senior home. I already knew what made up the Tea Baggers and GOP group because I tried to get involved, but I do not like Yankee-Florida people and dislike these 'old' out-of-touch Republicans in this town.

I made add that the deputies are tagging people for petty traffic violations more than I've ever seen in Blairsville. Mason's boys need to back off the citizens. The assholes work for us!!!!

Also, I've never seen such GA State Trooper presence in UC as I have the past few weeks.

Personally, I find many nasty and disgusting and needless things said upon this site, but one of the most disturbing, maligned, and unnecessary of them all is to take the Name of my (our) Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in vain.

The Name of Jesus is sacred, and I would implore you not to use it with such disdain.

Wow!,Where to start...You don't like Mason or the "old out of touch republicans" so I guess that means that someone is still in mourning for the fallen incumbent democrat.
There are several older folks at Tea party meetings...the way you complain, you must be a younger person.
If you dislike the current sheriff so bad,run for the office your self. But with speeches like the one above, don't expect too many votes.
A lot of folks think the new sheriff is off to a good start. You don't. Both can't be right...who to believe?...folks who get out and meet the man,or an irate internet commando...Oh yea,the whole Lord's name in vain thing...Not cool. But then again, what do other people know.

A traffic violation is a traffic violation. Which ones are petty and which are not petty?

What part of the post didn't you get? The person knows Mason. Mourning? The person doesn't like Mason and didn't say a word about Stevens. The Tea Party and Republican party in Union is made up of 90% old retirees. Like the new sheriff all you want, but not all people do. Remember that Mason won by only 500-some votes. Lord's name in vain. No biggie because not all people are Christians. What do you know is right? On topix people either agree with the mainstream or they are wrong? Now, that's real Christian of you.
