The old "meat Truck" scam is back in town. The van has been around this area this week. The van has pictures of steaks and meat products on the sides with the name Capital Meats. This is a high pressure scam. I suggest doing a Google search on "Capital Meats" and read the long list of complaints.

They came by our house too tonight. I just don't trust anyone selling meat/seafood from a van. They looked a bit shady too.

But you'll buy produce from the back of some old rednecks pick-em-up.

They were at my house last week. My wife told them that we were vegetarians. The illiterate con man did not know what to say. What a bunch of Jerks.

I don't want to purchase anything like this from the sort who sell it. Yes, I would feel much safer buying fruits/vegetables from some old red neck. If they come by our house, I will tell them we are vegans or lacto-vegetarians.

Why would you say you were vegetarians if you were not? Why not just say that you didn't want to buy anything from them?

I guess lies are my pet peeve--I can't stand lies!

well then you have obviously never had these kinds of salesmen at your door.. you dont just say "thank you, im good" and they leave.. oh no. its much more complicated than that. they are trained not to leave until they make the sale.

you tell them "no", and they will say, "well if you just let me come in...yadda, yadda" then they will tell you they can sell it to you half off, then they will offer to come down on that.. youre better off just telling a white lie to get them out of your hair so you can be at home in peace! my home is my comfort zone, and i dont like people showing up uninvited and then having a hard time getting them to leave.

Your right, they are into high pressure sales, BIG TIME. They don't take no for an answer. No to them is maybe, so they will keep on and on. They even ignore the no soliciting signs that neighbors had up and said it didn't apply to them. They are bold and scary if you ask me.

I don't like anyone going door to door to sell anything period!!! If I want something, let me come to you. Don't come to my house!

I gotta tell you everthing you are saying is correct i worked for capital meats for over 2 years. But quit when the cuts of meat got worse every month.I admit i did sell way overpriced meat even lyibg about the product to make a sale.I have kids to and that was the only income i had at the time.We were trained to lie and we all have the same sales pitch. We only paid about $100 for a case of meat and sold it for sometimes over $300 a case. But to be fair becuase some people complaining are pissed they got ripped off and really the staeks werent that bad.I have had them myself many, many times and if you cook them right there not half bad.The shelf life is alot longer then store bought meat. But if you prefer qauntiy over quality then its a good choice.but be aware that you can set your own price with these guys.Keep your firm price you want to pay and they will eventualy accept. There was about 20 guys at my warehouse and 90% of them are assholes.Unlike them i accutaly would guarentee my food.If i had a "call back" i would give them there money bck from my personel account not the companys. Here is what i suggest if you see a meat salesman.Remeber you dont have to buy but if you let them show you the staeks they think you will buy, just the price has to be right. If you dont want any meat.tell them you dont want any"period)But remeber they hear "no" all day so they are looking for the "yes's"If you are a savy shopper they take a look at the meats and say i will give you BLANK for this ase and not a penny more. And for people who dont know the freezers are plugged in 24 hours a day.And the vacuum seal on the package will break if the temp gets above freezing instantly. They are designed to.Always inspect the vacuum seal if it is tight then it has stayed frozen from the packager. The frezzers are beat up cause they are craned from the trucks at the end of the day and stored in a werhouse where they are plugged in and temp checked. Some frezzers have an alarm on the inside if the temp in the freezer gets about 30f the alarm will sound and wont go off till the temp drops. Please note these meats some overpriced if you pay that much but are good eating.Ive acually cook some staeks right in front of a customer before at my cost on there grill and they loved it and bought from me about 15-20 before i left. The simple fact is and your locale store meats are injected with flavoring and dye to keep the "fresh cut look" But accually they are just as aged as meats from the trucks. All meat is aged.if they werent you would get sick. But meats from the salesman has been frozen from the time of packaging while your local store gets the meat frozen and then thaw's it ad flavoring and red dye.and it doesnt get frozen till you talk it home.Truck bought staeks need to be cooked from frozen and you need to add flavoring if you are expecting resteraunt style flavor. And by the way all restuants sell and serve frozen vacuum seal steaks just like you gets from door to door salesmans.they just add flaving while cooking. But to rap it up i know for a fact most people with complaits are just upset that the fell for it and its just the bad taste in there mouth from paying to much money, not the steaks.By the way my favorite cut was the stirp steaks mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I would disagree with you about store bought meats. They are not frozen, then thawed and red dye added. That's ridiculous. Have you never been to a meat department in a grocery store and seen them cutting the sides of beef? Thses are not previously frozen. Also, all restaaurants do not sell you frozen steaks either.
The frozen stuff pedaled by these scammers is junk. You can buy frozen, vacuum sealed steaks that are of reasonable quality, just not from these guys.

Read my name. I heard they also sell drugs and used carbon dioxide to keep their "meats" cold, even though that may be hazardous...

Florida people are much to smart to buy products from a truck. They are selling to the Georgia hillbilly rednecks such as you.Chump.when are you going to grow up and become a responsible adult? I'll answer that question for you ,since you are unable,I know the difficulty you are experiencing because your brain stopped developing when you were born.

Or you can just say I don't want any and close the door.
