Great post.<quoted text>Get off your high horse.
As you have stated many times, those pesky facts are always there.
FY 1982 -$128 billion.
Love them facts.
#1.$1.469 Trillion of the deficit blamed on Obama was the costs of Bush's three wars that Bush kept "off budget "
So add that must be added to Bush's deficit figures.
$773 Billion was the cost of Bush's TARP Bailout Bush - started by Bush and dumped on Obama.
So Bush gets credit for the Bush banking debacle he created, and the Bush TARP bailout.
$ 711 Billion was the costs for Stimulus Spending created by the Bush Recession which requires stimulus spending to save the economy from complete destruction.
So it's Obama's fault he had to save the country's economy from the greatest recession since the Great Depression ?
So to be honest. Add $3 Trillion to Bush's deficit since all the spending mentioned was required either to correct Bush's "off budget" deficits, complete the Bush TARP bailout, or for Stimulus Spending to save us from the Great Recession.
Or just pretend none of the above happened.
Anyway- Obama has already cut the deficit for 2013 by $500 Billion - you'd think everyone here would be praising him.
#2. Agree - Bush increased military spending by $600 Billion a year, but it nothing to do with any pretend War on Terror. It's impossible to wage physical war on a conceptual tactic, but the boogeyman was terrified of us.
# 3. Reagan tripled the national debt.
The national debt when Ronald Reagan took office was about $1 trillion.
That included in it all the debt run up for the Revolutionary war, the Spanish-American war, the Civil war, World War I, World War II, the Korean war, the Vietnam war and all the Social wars of the 1930's and subsequent years. In other words it took the United States from 1776 until 1980 or more than 200 years to accumulate a national debt of $1 trillion.
Ronald Reagan left us a national debt of about $3.5 trillion or $3,500 billion.
For Obama to equal Reagan's performance Obama would have to leave office with a national debt of at least $33 Trillion Dollars.
Unless Obama's national debt in 2016 is $33 Trillion - all "Conservatives" have to admit Obama is a better President than Reagan.
#4. The national debt when Bush the Son took office was approximately $5.6 Trillion.
When Bush left office it was $10.7 Trillion plus $1.4 Trillion "off budget", or $12.1 Trillion.
So Bush 2:
more than doubled the national debt,
left us the Great Recession,
left us 3 Wars to pay for,
and left us a $1.4 Trillion Dollar annual deficit,(after having inherited a budget surplus).
So unless Obama leaves office with a $22 Trillion national debt, leaves us with a Great Recession, and with 3 unfunded "off budget" wars, he must be a far better President than Bush.
Reagan cut taxes on the rich and tripled the national debt;
Bush cut taxes on the rich, turned a budget surplus into a 1.4 Trillion annual deficit, and doubled the debt;
Will someone please explain when we will learn cutting taxes on the rich causes deficits and increases the national debt
Will someone please explain with this proven track record of financial debacles, deficits, and doubling and tripling the national debt, why any Democrat wants to follow these disasters into office.
Every time we start to recover from the latest Republican created disaster, they get voted back in office to repeat their proven track record of Republican debacles.
Yes, you gotta love those pesky facts.
As Karl Rove said "Those facts have a liberal bias".
