It appears that one of our nepotism children has been caught driving a school vehicle without any drivers license!

Dustin Byers (because of a dui) did not have any drivers license and decided that he did not have to have a valid drivers license to drive county vehicles. So a GSP trooper showed him the importance of having a valid license.

When confronted, the school officials asked to allow him to turn himself in instead of letting the trooper haul him away in cuffs because he might loose his cushy job of working in the field house.

Everyone should be so lucky.

The UC School system is and has always been a disgrace. Every time someone runs for the school board they make promises to help clean up the wasteful and favorite son system but as soon as they take office they forget those promises.

His dad is Ronnie Byers, former asst. supt, and lifetime, world class low life individual. He was asst supt when his son was allowed to drive a county school vehicle daily to Dahlonega to get his degree.

Just ask anyone up there what he does and all will tell you nothing but sit in the field house!

So, is this related to an earlier thread, involving a heated cover up the Board of Education ran from? One that seems to have moved out of sight, or maybe removed, now?

Not familiar with your question, but could you imagine what would happen if he had of had a accident! It has been common knowledge with every employee there of his driving status and probably aware of by his superiors!

Would it not be refreshing to see this board do something positive for once in their life!

CHATSWORTH, Ga.ó A former middle school teacher who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence earlier this year begged the school board Tuesday to give her a second chance, but board members upheld the schoolís decision not to renew her contract.

While the Code of Ethics for Educators does not outline termination as a penalty for a first time DUI, it leaves the door open for school boards to interpret how the conviction bears on the moral standing of that teacher. More often than not, DUI and the political and social stigma it carries is seen by school boards as a crime that should result in the termination of an otherwise ethical teacher. There are no second chances for DUI convicts.

Such an action not only terminates a teacherís current employment, it reverberates whenever this teacher applies for new employment. When a district conducts a background check and sees a DUI conviction, they normally opt to disqualify that applicant in favor of someone without the proverbial red flag. A DUI conviction can spell the end of a teacherís career as an educator.

Byers is out as coach at the High School. Hurray! No more injuries for those kids in weight training! Finally some accountability at UCSB.

Something is very wrong with this school system. I have children in all three schools and have had two graduate from Here too.
What gets me is that million dollar football field and now building an auditorium for high school and they have been out of copy paper for weeks. They also have the box at Bi-Lo for school supplies for the teachers. Wtf really, something is super wrong. The teacher I spoke with about mot having copy paper says it happens all the time. Normally Ingles donates boxes of paper to schools each month and if they don't or can't the teachers will not have any. Have you ever heard such a thing?
