has anyone canned potatoes at the cannery? how much does it cost per can? do I need to wash potatoes first--any info will be appreciated

Yes, I have.
.35 a quart jar .25 a pint jar

No need to wash...you can do it there in the sink.

They also have an apple peeler to make apple sauce.

35 cents a quart and 25 cents a pint and I would suggest doing all the prep work before you go...washing, peeling, cutting the whole 9

Not with potatoes they will turn black.
There are huge sinks and water faucets to wash the taters and peel them at the cannery.
I do a lot of prep work at the cannery because it is set up for that.

Your own glass jars. No tin cans.$.35 is to process the jars.

If you haven't been there, there are big stainless steel tables, sinks, and faucets to clean the 'taters. Some things are good prep'd at home, but I would rather do it there and place them in jars while they are fresh.

I'm not sure what the hours are, now. It use to be a.m.s a couple days a week.
