Your not doing much to help Conleys cause.Who's da ho BTW that put y'all s azz out of office anyway fatazz? Floridiot fool.
Conley will soon be gone. The people of Blairsville aren't dumb enough to reelect him. He has done nothing to further the cause of the residents. All he has on his mind is the downtown because the Banksters want it that way. He should have taken care of the people first if he wanted to remain mayor. Who ever heard of someone with the credentials he has getting elected to anything.

So much ammunition, and so little time to fire. Just a phrase, of course, but here we are at the eleventh hour. And the Mayor and Commissioner mimic Obama, each time they open their mouths; it’s like the gift that just keep on giving – I hope folks are listening.

I hope everyone has or will read the Mayor’s, and Mr. Payton’s Political ad in this week’s paper.

The Mayor opens by once again explaining to us all and his opponent how the “city government works’, and the form of government under which it operates. Further, he again, attempts to deny personal responsibility by reminding everyone that (“The Town is) a Weak Mayor/Strong Council form of government. And “the power” he says “ lies in the City Council.”

Later in the ad he tries to convince you that “the Mayor cannot do anything”, and quickly takes refuge behind ‘Council Approval.(Once more, we are not astute enough to know how Blairsville operates (or mostly doesn’t).

During and after that he mostly claims his opponent is uninformed (unaware) or misinformed repeatedly, and doesn’t know anything about “city government or business.” Then he goes on to claim his opponent is misleading (deceiving) Blairsville residents.

How can it be both? Granted Mr. Payton may be a political novice, but,I believe, at this point most of us would prefer that to what we have witnessed over the past few years. I’ll address that more later, but back to my point on the Mayor.

If the Mayor, as he says,“cannot do anything” then why in goodness name would it be a full time job??

And the opinion of serving honestly, morally, faithfully and in Blairsville’s best interest is certainly debatable. As are the facts and figures the Mayor claims to have provided. And yes, I’m sure the people of Blairsville paying the bills do indeed expect the Mayor/Council to provide facts, and keep them informed of Town business when requested, nevertheless, that has NOT been happening.

And yes the NGN may attend Council Meetings, nonetheless, they act more as a political action committee, than a newspaper. Everyone, in all honesty knows that unbiased, investigative reporting will never cross that press.

No need to now, as the Mayor runs for another term of office “invite residents”(guess no one else is welcome)“to see what we do.”

No we all witnessed what, with attitude, the Mayor/Council do, as we remember the sign ordinance fiasco, and it wasn’t very pretty. And I don’t think, most of us will forget that debacle.

As reference earlier, I wish to address Mr. Payton, briefly (I hope).

First, I’ve never met the man, and yes it’s apparent he is a political novice. One that appears, to me, to have more than the simple ideals, and standards most would respect, but also a genuine desire to contribute in what he believes to be positive solutions to basic essential issues facing the leadership of Blairsville.

Please read his ad in this week’s paper. To me that is exactly what Blairsville needs at this point in time.

Can a novice, willing and wanting your confidence, genuinely believing he can serve the people, offering to be your conduit as a Mayor that will do things, treating you with respect, assisting in obtaining information, and responding to your inquires, and addressing your issues, actually accomplish such monumental task?

I think all it really takes is the desire. He offers to be our “friend at City Hall.” I think he should be given that opportunity.

Please VOTE ON NOVEMBER 5, 2013!!

TOM PAYTON WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT CHOICE!

I haven't noticed any of them being that much over weight. If you are talking about Bear then I would rather have him come to my rescue than two skinny cops.
