Simple. You got married went to college and had a kid. Problem solved. That is if daddy had enough money. After the war you become a town leader and fleece the community. Sound like a few people you know?

...Why would anyone want to put her self in a hand to hand combat situation with a man, or be killed, lamed , or raped.
Let's rephrase this question just a bit:

Why would anyone want to put them self in a hand to hand combat situation with an enemy, or be killed, lamed , or raped?

Women did have a choice before. Men really never did have a choice. Whether you were drafted or not. Women did have a choice, but if they are drafted like men then they will not neither. I seriously doubt women will ever be drafted in this country though.

Yeah, the country elected one to be President in 2000 and again in 2004, he surrounded himself with advisers just like himself.

Sorry, but your original statement seemed to indicate a volunteer situation, which is the current situation facing anyone that chooses to serve today.

The point being that either gender will volunteer for many of the same reasons, and either gender will face the same possible consequences.

I think today military is a trade off. It has really good training and benefits; just as long as you live long enough to collect them. Sadly too often they don't; or they spend a few years in and then get out. I think most people go for the benefits; thinking nothing about the consequences, or it just couldn't happen to me.

Even though women have served in support roles, they have, over the past several years found themselves in combat situations and have perfromed admirably. Women have served in combat in the armies of other countries such as Isreal, and in most cases have excelled.
Times are changing maybe faster than we would like but, changing none-the-less. I don't have a problem personally with women in combat. Some will be able to perform and some won't just as all men cannot handle combat either physically or mentaly.
The training standards absolutely have to be the same for both men and women.
As a parent, I would be concerned about the likelihood of my daughter being captured and abused as only a female can be.
If it were possible for me to speak to women who want to be in combat, I would just say, be very careful what you wish for. Beyond that, go for it.
Unfortunately, the highest risk for rape and harassment a woman faces in the military is from troops on our own side. Maybe women should start shooting a few of these miscreants to make it safer for them.

That may be so, but there are a lot worst things than rape.

Yes , it does seem like there is way too much of that going on in the military. However, shooting may be too good for those who would do such a thing, unless, that is, the first shot is well placed.

Wow, you're not such a Floridiot after all!! Women are better at doing laundry. Oh, and scrubbing the floors and washing dishes and changing diapers. What's wrong with women these days?

Ok I am gonna make alot of women mad here, but oh well here goes. I personally do not believe that a woman needs to be on the front line. Yes I know some women who can kick a mans but, but it is true a man on the front line is gonna worry about her and try and protect her. That is just how it is. I hear about it all the time, how going through basic and AIT how the men will do whatever to help his battle buddy as they call it, try and succeed. So do you honestly think that if we are at war that the men will do his job and ignore and protect the women, then you are ignorant in your thinking

WTH does Honey Boo Boo have to do with combat? WTH is wrong with you that have to retort to some stupid off the damn record words of stupidity/? MOST BLONDES ARE NOT NATURAL dumbass, If you see a natural blonde you will know for sure why there is a punch line to every joke. They do stupid well. Very few admit it. Specially women who are natural blondes. So what? The worst thing you can ever be is a blonde trying to win a fight with a fake blonde. It is entertaining but never pick a battle you know you can not win! HOORAH

You make as much sense as the person who asked about Honey Boo Boo.

I thought the comment was funny considering GA Girl's logic and writing is that of a 13 year old.

There you go again being passive to the topic at hand. A girl can kick ass and take names. Specially with the right people. They kind of bring out themselves to diner. I do not see anything about Honey boo boo that I care for. Zell did not want a show done locally here for a reason. All the dumbass back assward country would be picked as leading roles and a bad impression would stain the local communities. You finding humor in that does not surprise me. You can not buy class.

So when are women going to have to start registering with the Selective Service? Being that they can be in combat now, they'll have to start registering for the draft, right?
