There was once a fella on here that had a cable channel. I think it was channel 99. What ever happened with it? Rich Golfer sure reminds me of him.

Read my lips: Most normal sane people do not write dissertations about a county in which they don't reside to feed their narcissistic egomanic personality disorder.
My counter argument is the allegations are too long-winded, uninteresting, and a lot of bullshit composed to make the writer feel like he isn't educationally impotent.
Well, now that you've told us your personal feelings, why don't you tell us the counter-facts as related to the allegations presented in the report.

Well thanks for your interest. Ridgeline TV is still on the air and has been for over three years now. We produce local programming like UCHS Football, Young Harris College Basketball, parades, Union County Historical Society Concert Series, Nana's Treehouse, Out & About and others.

The channel also airs classic movies and westerns each day. Local weather is also part of our programming and you can see the forecast every two minutes at the bottom of the screen, along with community announcements. Ridgeline TV Channel 99 is available on Windstream Cable. We also post all our local programs to our website: www.ridgelinetv.net .

As for being "Rich Golfer," nope, and I don't know who that is. Don't really care, either. And by the way, I don't play golf and I certainly am not rich.

On the subject of televising the county meetings. I don't think I could imagine anything duller than that. Just my opinion. Apart from covering election results Ridgeline TV doesn't stray too much into the world of politics or news coverage. That said, we occasionally have covered events like the Union County Fire Department dedication and open house, Towns County Library grant announcement, etc.

I enjoy watching the Sorghum Parade and the football games. Grandson is on the team. Can I get a video of the last game?

Is this posting in error, or is it an ominous attempt to create a partisan complication and/or a chaotic consideration in relation to a clearly non-partisan issue.

Although, I agree with the comments relating to the earlier unnecessary ESPLOST brought before the voters on behalf of the school system; unless those items are again being tied to the current SPLOST IV vote scheduled for November 5, and for which early voting is now proceeding, the vote of the School's ESPLOST (which unfortunately passed) isn't irrelevant.

Nonetheless, it is interesting to know that the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia of which the Union County Commissioner is past President recommends that counties hold their TAX referendums in a non-election year for the very reason that the low voter turnout will increase the likelihood of the tax passing.

VOTE NO SPLOST

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Some nerve isn’t it. Get away with hitting you up for another $21 million “for the children” and then (8) eight months later the Commissioner thinks --- well that went well, let see what we can sell this time.

Tis the season of miracles :)

I wholeheartedly agree with GA-FF-LAW. The issues of Splost Abuses, Audit Problems, Property Taxes - all outlined in my recent Union County News Report - are NON-PARTISAN issues.

Republican Voters and Democratic Voters need to pull together and simply look at the facts.

The FACTS are that Commissioner Lamar Paris has severely indebted the county, has lied about it, and in the process has violated the law.

THE IMMEDIATE ISSUE BEFORE THE VOTERS....

.....is the Current Splost IV Vote.

People need to show up and Vote. At this time, with all of the unanswered questions regarding abuses, hidden debt, illegal activity, abandoned projects etc... I think people must VOTE NO for now.

IF the questions are answered satisfactorily, then perhaps the Referendum can be rewritten and put up for a vote next year. But let it be a TRUTHFUL Vote - a FAIR Vote. Not this rushed abomination where the Commissioner sells it on LIES, and sneaks it onto an offseason ballot.

EVERYONE needs to show up and vote. This is a Very Serious Vote that could indebt your county for generations if passed as written.

When bonds, etc., are issued by the county, who's buying them? Aren't some at an interest rate that's pretty profitable for the buyer? I wonder if it's a Family and Friends Buying Club?

I got a copy of the new paper last night and it is an eye opener as to what Paris has done to our county. He needs to be imprisoned and made an example of. It is the kind of stuff you hear about elsewhere but not in our town.

The public should know the person distributing this flyer about Mr. Paris reportedly does not live in Union County, receives welfare benefits and is a convicted felon.

Care to give any rebuttals on the veracity of the allegations in the paper?

Do search on the following thread for your answer.
" Mountain Voice admits to felony charges"
You obviously do not know who these people are and you need to consider the source of your information.

Is Norm confused again ? The paper I got clearly shows David Hopkins or the TMV as publisher . I would guess the good citizens of Union County who want clean and open government are the ones distributing the papers . There is a difference . Are you saying all those people are on welfare and are felons ? Get the paper and read it dummy .

Mark, you make an excellent point.

It seems that some are obsessed with attacking the messengers, while ignoring the message.

It doesn’t make any difference what anyone thinks about TMV or anybody else posting his or her message upon topix. Have the courage, ability, know how, and yes evidence to challenge that with which you disagree, offering creditable indisputable rebuttal.

No one is really interested in those who’s agenda is simply to personally attack another who obviously has the skill to better speak to the facts of the issue than an unskilled and foolish antagonizer making a feeble attempt at diversion, deception, and contrived ploys.

In the case with this particular issue; does ones past history and/or indiscretions have any bearing at all upon a presentation of factual content obtained from public records?

Shouldn’t the issue focus upon the creditability of the public record, and the Officials with the fiduciary duty to provide, and insure the accuracy thereof?

Don’t be deceived, or mislead.
