As for gossiping on Topix, about a lady who left one church to go to another and gossip, would that not make you as bad as her. The gossipee talking about the gossiper?:)
Don't quote me on names or dates, but I believe, I ran across this group working with children who wanted to hunt. They offer a class to kids and spend time with them teaching them sportsman like conduct.
I am also pretty sure they volunteer with children, who have one parent, to teach them hunting safety and such. My daughter loved bow hunting and we spoke at length to a gentleman (ages ago at the Sorghum Festival maybe?) who was very polite and offered to work with her in a group. They were dressed in camo and passing out the sample bibles.
Not everyone likes to go to church. If you can spread the good word, through a means that holds peoples interest, then what is the problem? Didn't the Christian God say 'where one or two shall gather in my name, I will be there" or something like that.
Doesn't say anywhere you have to be sitting in a building, sweating and a fanning and trying not to fall asleep and wondering if the roast in the oven is gonna be overcooked, before the pastor get's done. After all you outta there by 12:00. LMAO!
These people have taken a local "hobby" and used it to do good, spread the word, and all ya'll can do is bitch about it.
As for their personal lives, I have no clue and really don't care, after all it's between them and their God, not them and Topix.

Many phedophiles use any and all excuses to associate with children in order to abuse them. Watch your children closely people.

I hate to admit it, but one reason I don't go to church is because of the gossiping and back stabbing. I am not interested in that. It's sad that around here a person can't feel welcome at any church because there is always somebody whispering about you when you walk past them. I feel like church has become more of a social event and social status to some folks. It's not what you learned in church anymore, it is where you go to church. Anybody ever wonder why there are so many churches are here? It is because of the gossiping and backstabbing, truth is a group got mad at one group and decided that they could do it better and the next thing you know, we have a new church. Now I'd like to make it clear I am not talking about any one church in particular, I am talking about churches everywhere, not just here.
You are so right, It's terrible!

You think? A true Christian would pay for all expenses out of his own pocket, and not want handouts. that is true sportsmanship.

If he is a man of God then the woods are full of them! Ask him did he ever steal from Vogel Park? Also he and Dayton ran a good scam on another man just a few years ago. Ask him what did they tell BK about the construction business he bought from them. They told him they would not start another company and the ink was not dry before they did!

I wonder what the fishing and hunting budget is at this church? All I ever see is J Deaver and his son either hunting or fishing on tv! I wonder if Jeff gets permission to hunt and fish for the tv shows? He has been known (recently) to tresspass on private property without permission to hunt. He has even been asked to leave and not ever come back!
I guess when you don't have a full time job, you have time to hunt and fish. Some of us have to work, and fish in our off time.

Funny, I think they were over budget and now he is not on the staff.

And before someone calls me a "holier than thou" I will be the first to admit that I sin daily and have to bow on my knees and ask forgiveness daily as a matter of fact several times a day.
The Problem with Animal Sacrifices
What is the point of all this asking for forgiveness daily? The need to constantly repeat these sacrifices points to a limitation in understanding the Gospel of Grace.

"Judging" from the post here, there is a lot of judgement going on...nothing wrong with it, but what we need to know is

Will organized religion (substitute the name of any church)ever change? The change lies within each of us and begins with each individual follower of Christ. I'm not talking about ABC Christianity: pray a prayer and you have a ticket to heaven. His kingdom is now and later. He came that we may have the fulfilled life, now. It is God’s work from the inside...not the outside! Christians need to learn Grace.

The path of least resistance...

The easy yoke and the easy burden...

I discovered that problems in the organized religion are not resolved by ‘trying harder’ through systems of religious discipline. Renewal and restoration are achieved by the effective grace of God where He initiates His Life into ours through the indwelling Holy Spirit (That small still voice). The Spirit produces the Life of Jesus in and through us to praise and glory of God. Our part is to respond to His grace in our life.

This is how true change occurs in the follower of Jesus Christ!

In the Bible, Paul said it this way:

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and this life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.(Gal. 2:20)

Yes, churches seem to be train-wrecks, but God is working on His Church (big C). None of us meet his standards - not one. It is the covering of Christ that makes us free from sin, not our self-effort. That's Grace.
