In queen Ga Peach's own words below from another thread .... she had a child out of wedlock .... she's not as perfect as she comes across it seems .... she made a big boo-boo mistake.

Ga Peach said:
"Actually, you are wrong on all accounts. I am a self-made woman who was a single mother, and I managed everything without government help, alimony, child-support, or handouts".

Well there's nothing wrong with having a child and not being dependant on someone to help you out. However, theres no mention of family when listing the independancy. Family help is more valued. They help emotionally, physically and sometimes financially when able. Many single women/men never give family the credit they deserve. The family helps the child/ren involved more than anything anyway.

I would rather see a woman choose life over abortion.
I would rather a woman be dependant on help to care for a child as to have a child and neglect asking for the help all on the account of selfish and foolish pride.

i had a child" out of wedlock" (as you put it) and she is FAR from being a mistake...she is kind, loving, compassionate and a productive member of society...which is a hell of a lot more good than i can say about YOU...

that doesnt mean she had a child out of wedlock. it could very well mean that she was married, had a child and later divorced. geez. thats what i got out of the post.

Twit, I was divorced and a single mom. I wouldn't be ashamed if I had a child out of wedlock, it is more honorable than abortion.

Being a single mother doesn't mean she wasn't married when she had the child. I am a single mother and I was married for over 7 years to my sons daddy. He wasn't born out of wedlock.

But you received no child support or alimony in this day and time of DNA from the father ... he could have had his paycheck garnished to support the child ?????

There is no such thing as a single mom unless the child is born out of wedlock .... a woman that has been married and divorced would be deemed a divorced mom, not a single mom since you weren't single when you had the child.

You act like you live in the 1930's (which you probably do).

Single parenthood may occur for a variety of reasons. It could be opted for by the parent (as in divorce, adoption, artificial insemination, surrogate motherhood, or extramarital pregnancy.

FYI, I was a single mother 35 years ago. I didn't want child support or alimony, I had a career and could make it on my own without financial support. Once a woman accepts child support or alimony, unless she desperately needs it, she is still connected to the ex-husband and the courts decide his visitation rights. I knew what was best for my child and me. We tightened our belts a little and watched our budget, but neither of us regret my decision.

Women who have children out-of-wedlock are as welcome in today's society as those who are married or divorced. The stigma is gone. Thank the Lord.

If my parent's reconciled with their marriage, they would have killed each other! Sometimes that piece of paper changes the love to ownership in a way that even God himself had nothing to do with!

The stigma is gone ????? How about asking your fellow church goers if having children out of wedlock is welcomed in society today ... what planet do you live on?

That's like saying it's okay for every girl after the age of 13 to have sex like a maniac and produce children like rabbits ... of course there's stigma still attached ... not only morally, but a lot of it has to do with our tax money paying for those illegimate children in the form of welfare, food stamps, medicaid, gov housing, childcare, crime, prison overcrowding ... the list goes on an on.

Evidently you didn't read the thread about the daycare at that high school and what chaos it caused. In your world, you may look at females having children out of wedlock is just fine and dandy, but society does not, especially when they have to pay the bill.

You were lucky that you could provide for your kid, but millions of others quit school and never, ever better themselves ... they live in a world of poverty for the rest of their lives passing it along to all their children ... it's a way of life for many people.

boodoodle. You are the one who is living on another planet. Not all mothers and children are on welfare. Mature single women have babies because they want a child and don't want to be married. Gay women and men have children.
Babies are not just for married people.
The program at the school is a good one and only a few people are complaining. I don't know a minister in this town who would not bless a child and mother.

You evidently failed to read my post above ... I'm not speaking of females that choose to have a baby out of wedlock that can support those childre. I'm speaking of the millions of unwed mothers with illegitmate children that society raises via welfare.

Ga Peach said flat out that it is not a stigma any longer to have a child out of wedlock .... I beg to disagree unless she doesn't care that she supports millions of those children via welfare.

This is Union County, Georgia. I don't know one single mother who has planned to raise a child alone or has a child without receiving some kind of help from somewhere or somebody.
