I know of an employee that works in the court house that carries a loaded gun to work with her in her pocket book.. She is a secretary. She is crazy and I wait for the day where I read in the paper when she goes off on someone.

Employees do not go through security therefore the day will come.

Nothing wrong with having guns. But they do not mix well with alcohol and rage. I'd bet almost anything that right now the man wishes he could go back and do things differently. But unfortunately for him and his family he can't.

I saw on the NGN website where they are looking for a staff writer. Maybe one of y'all could help them out.
...the ad specifically says "must be a team player" which means...you gotta play by the good old boy rules. Forget trying to get anything printed that does not pass the team captain's standards. Hey, newspaper editors are there for a reason, but it is painfully obvious that our "legal organ" lacks a degree of responsibility to the community. It also lacks the skills of a copy editor to take care of those redundant sheriff articles...damn, how many times do you need to repeat the same information in one story?

Ray miller is my grandfather, although we havent spoken in NUMEROUS years. Yes, it's true he owed (well OWES) alimony to my sweet grandmother, Dollye, who passed away late last year. This man brought us many good memories - but sadly his alcoholism turned him into a pretty hard to deal with man. He shot his daughter, Colleen, while she was on the phone with 911 - 6 times. Her grandson was able to escape from the second floor balcony. It's very sad to see a house from so much of my memories and childhood turn into a murder scene.

ACTUAL Grnson; Your words added some much needed sanity to this insane situation. Thus far you are the only one who has spoken the truth. Thank you. I am always in awe of people who respond to a one-sided situation and think they know the whole story. You are truly the exception.

Truly, as well intentioned people, we should pray for peace and comfort for the Miller family. Obviously, the family has had their share of grief over the years. And now, additional losses of loved ones.

What a sad situation not simply for the family's tribulations, but that those on topix would exhibit the usual heartlessness, again, displayed in these threads.

It is very sad to all the Miller family. Most 80 yr old's should not be estranged from family. He obviously tried to get rid of them permanently resulting in one death. Jail is not always an ideal situation for the elderly. Most elderly want to stay as independent as they can and this may have been a problem for his family. I cannot imagine what the daughter's family is going through. He once had a law enforcement career but today's times are different than in his day. In reading some of these posts I wonder if he shot the young man first trying to stop him and the daughter intervened. So many questions for this family.

Why I'm I not surprised? Everyone has to defend themselves here. Don't count on no cops to help you or your neighbor. I bet they told somebody about what was happening before and no one believed them. very sad. If someone tells you some one is abusing them believe them and get them out of there as fast as you can.

Do you have some proof that the law did nothing? How do you know the family didn't minimize what he was capable of? If the family believed he was a monster I don't think his great grandson would have been there.
