Why do Right Wingers never tell the "whole truth"
Having been to England a half dozen times myself - I noted that people in England love the government run National Health Service.
If you want to commit career suicide as a politician in England - just propose doing away with the National Health Service.
Why not tell Americans how much the countries with government run health services love them and would never give them up ?
Wait ..... never mind.

And why do left wingers not even know the truth.

I trust my friends judgement more than yours.

I think the below gives the best explanation of why patients seek medical care in different places. Note that most come here because of "The availability of advanced medical technology and sophisticated training of physicians are cited as driving motivators for growth in foreigners traveling to the U.S. for medical care."

Also note most americans travel abroad for cheaper rates, "whereas the low costs for hospital stays and major/complex procedures at Western-accredited medical facilities abroad are cited as major motivators for American travelers."

So if you want cheap medical care, go abroad. If you want the best medical care, come to America.

"A McKinsey and Co. report from 2008 found that between 60,000 to 85,000 medical tourists were traveling to the United States for the purpose of receiving in-patient medical care.[79] The same McKinsey study estimated that 750,000 American medical tourists traveled from the United States to other countries in 2007 (up from 500,000 in 2006).[80] The availability of advanced medical technology and sophisticated training of physicians are cited as driving motivators for growth in foreigners traveling to the U.S. for medical care,[79] whereas the low costs for hospital stays and major/complex procedures at Western-accredited medical facilities abroad are cited as major motivators for American travelers.[80] Also, the decline in value of the U.S. dollar is offering additional incentive for foreign travel to the U.S., although cost differences between the US and many locations in Asia are larger than any currency fluctuations.

Several major medical centers and teaching hospitals offer international patient centers that cater to patients from foreign countries who seek medical treatment in the U.S.[81] Many of these organizations offer service coordinators to assist international patients with arrangements for medical care, accommodations, finances and transportation including air ambulance services."

When the NHS was born 65 years ago today it promised free health care for all – regardless of whether you had enough money to pay the doctor.

... Our poll today reveals the definitive verdict on the NHS on the anniversary of its creation by Labour Minister of Health Aneurin Bevan, in 1948.

Overall, 85% are happy with care they receive, compared to 7% who are unhappy.

Our poll of 1,000 people this week also revealed most feel GPs, hospital consultants and medics are paid fairly for what they do, but 57% say nurses – who start on £21,000 – are not paid enough.

"This poll shows that people are, broadly speaking, satisfied with the care they have received.

Here's the facts,

and

65 years - no effort to return to an idiotic let's profit from sick people system.

Yes. Government run medical care works ... Works well ... And people who have it ... Love it.

Just those pesky facts.

One of my good friends is a "dual" doctor (MD and PhD) and is very well respected in his field (he was the "lead" person in the development and launching of a drug used to treat a serious condition, sits on several medical boards and other boards) who was born in, grew up in, and trained in, the UK.

He's been in practice in the US for many years. I asked him one time why he was here, instead of where he grew up, he laughed and said something like, "As poor (his word) as the US healthcare system is, it's the best place to be, and not just for the money a doctor can earn. You can better treat your patients here. It's very frustrating in the UK."

Guy knows what he's talking about. He's done it.

I'm shocked !

Shocked!

A doctor in a system that makes the doctors and health care providers among the richest people in the world- says its a great system.

Doctors in other industrialized countries, who provide just as good of services as here, are paid less than here.

I bet they would also love to make more money by turning out sick children into a source of profit for them.

What next ?

MRI salesmen who say we should have more MRIs ?

CAT Scan salesmen who say we should have more CATs ?

Cardiac Surgeons who say we should do more heart surgeries ?

Two great books:

Catastrophic Care: "How American Health Care Killed My Father - And How We Can Fix it"

by David Goldhill

and

Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us"
by Steven Brill - NY Times Magazine

Both are on CSPAN this week discussing how to the government must intervene in medical care because there cannot ever be a "Free Market" in medical care.

I will always respect Bush because I believe he is a decent man who believed what he was doing was best for the country that he truly does love, unlike our current president who can't wait for any opportunity to blame this country for something.(and "fundamentally transform" it into something our Founders would not recognize) Unfortunately, he was not the fiscal conservative the country needed and he was squishy on issues like immigration.

Speaking of our Founders, apparently Obama doesn't like the term "Founding Fathers" - I guess he thinks "Founding Founders" - yes, he actually said it - is more "inclusive". Sorry, Mr President, it just makes you sound like an idiot. And that's how the administration is referring to them as well.

Maybe if you took the time to KNOW what the Republican Party leaders are doing you wouldn't sound so stupid. You get information from sources designed to make you happy so you will tune in. Or in the case of Mr. Broun and others telling you the fairytales you believe to get your vote. They are all feeding you a line of BS. Here is a "news" story on what the real Republican Party is thinking, don't know what they will actually do but they know they can't win on a national level dragging you and your friends along. A lot of middle of the road Republicans have bailed on the Party since the Tea Party fiasco, myself included.
So tell me, just what exactly do you think constitutes "the Tea Party fiasco"? What is your problem with the Tea Party movement? There is no national Tea Party, it is a movement that is truly grass roots that started slowly and people were inspired by the actions of others to join in. As such, there is no "national platform", but most of the groups do support the following:
1. The Constitution - it is the document upon which this country was founded, respect it
2. Smaller, less intrusive government - Obamacare being a great example of leviathan govt that served to inspire many of these ordinary Americans to become involved in politics for the first time
3. Fiscal responsibility - reduce the debt, no deficit spending
4. Lower taxes
5. Local government
6. Traditional values
I am sure I am leaving out points, but what do you find objectionable about the things I did mention?

Wrong, he is just using his common sense for a change, maybe trying to make up a little for ruining the economy. Its the RIGHT thing to do. You want to call it an amnesty bill when its not, that make you feel smart? Every letter you type points to the obvious conclusion as to why you dislike Mexicans. You know why and so does anyone with common sense. They go to work and work from sun up to sun down doing things Anglo's won't do anymore. They have built themselves into a community, they go to school, to church, raise their kids, pay taxes and even fight in the military for this country, and you just can't stand that.
Why would you say it is not an amnesty bill when everything points to it being exactly that. They refuse to put in an amendment that demands the border fence be completed (among other things) before any legalization begins - why, if they truly intend to enforce the border. The CBO itself said it would reduce illegal immigration by no more than 25%-(though now they are saying 33-50%). Do you really consider our border secure if the VERY BEST this bill can come up with is reducing illegal immigration by 50%?
And never forget, while it IS a fundamental part of a nation's sovereignty and security to have an enforceable border and while this country cannot keep incurring the cost of illegal immigrants, the bottom line for our security is that the world now has Islamic terrorists who wish to do us harm - a secure border is a no brainer - stopping illegal immigration is a "side benefit".
