I don't know where you got your ratings, but according to Real Clear Politics, Obama's rating is 49%. Real Clear Politics is the site that the left wingers kept sending me to during Obama's first campaign.
And for what it's worth, according to the news, his rating is dropping.
Why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

Actually, I suspect the republicans are feeling GREAT now.
As far as the next election, Hillary WAS your great hope. Don't think that's going to happen. Your time will be OVER in 3 years and 8 months. If the republicans take the Senate in 2014, it's going to be a loooooooong 2 years for you libs after that.
Hillary, Biden - doesn't matter to us.

You going to trot out Rick Perry or Sarah Palin again? Maybe Herman Cain and Paul Broun?

What's the platform going to be? Cut taxes for the wealthiest, deregulate everything, spend more on military and screw the middle class? That's gotten old.

Even as his administration has faced intense scrutiny over a trio of controversies, President Obamaís approval rating hasnít suffered, according to a new CNN/ORC International poll released Sunday.

Fifty-three percent of Americans said they approve of the job the president is doing, while 45 percent said they disapprove. Thatís virtually unchanged from an early April survey in which Obamaís approval/disapproval split was 51 percent to 47 percent.

<quoted text>I'll take these on in separate posts. First of all, how dare you denigrate military service like that. NO ONE is dragging kids off the streets and making them enlist, we have a 100% voluntary military. For kids who have no idea what to do with their lives or who do not have the finances to go to college but know they want something more than they can achieve on their own, the military is a great way to be productive and learn some skills and either use those skills in a civilian job or use veterans loans to then go on to college. One of my kids was in a college class with a young man who did just that. It's actually quite impressive, given the probability today of getting sent to an active war zone , that the military has no problem in recruiting.
I know kids from very comfortable families whose children wanted to serve their country in the military. Some are in the academies and some are enlisted - one family with one son who just graduated from an academy and another who just enlisted. So don't give me this hogwash about how only the poor with no other options are in the military. It's garbage.
Eat my shorts.

I spent my time serving, and speak from experience and knowledge.

Typical Right Wing Wacko logic - Find the exception and claim its the norm.

Use kids savvy enough to understand the career boon a service academy education provides, and is either smart enough or politically connected enough to get appointed - yea that's a great "norm" to use as an example.

And I know kids with standard intelligence and grade school educations who became millionaires - so what - does that mean grade school educations are all that is necessary in 2013.

Education:

You create a country where:
- college education is harder and harder to afford;
- you cut back on student loans and grants;
- you divert public education funds for poor and minority schools to "special" schools for upwardly mobile families;
- you dump handicapped kids are dumped on the public schools, and the "elite" get tax breaks and subsidies to send their kids to private schools;
- you provide tax breaks and subsidies for private schools at the cost of funds for public schools.

In the end, what a surprise, the military is the only alternative for many poor kids to get a competitive education.

Crime/Employment:

You reward someone who steals $100 Million from a bank by upwardly mobile executives with bonuses and stock grants, while you imprison someone one for stealing a loaf of bread;

You envisage kids consuming tons of "prescribed" drugs that will cause addiction, and throw some kid smoking a pot in jail;

You spend hundreds of billions making pretty places prettier, and allow the poor parts of America to disintegrate into hopeless disaster areas where selling dope is the only viable employment option.

And ain't it amazing many kids in the projects will chose to join the military as opposed selling dope and living half his life in prison.

What else are they gonna due, start an engineering firm specializing in major bridge construction ?

Do you live on Planet Earth ?

Every male in my family has enlisted in the Marines when they graduated High School - it's just expected.

But as we all learned, most of the kids we met at San Diego or Paris Island weren't there because they wanted to be, it was just the best of the options available to them.

I was not surprised that Obama's poll numbers haven't changed because of the recent scandals. His strategy is working and working very well. All he has to do is:

Answer questions that aren't asked.
Just keep saying, "I don't know anything about that" or,
"I heard it on the news" or,
"I was really angry when I heard that" or,
"I have asked for their resignation....end of problem" or,
"It's not my fault" or,
"It's Bush's fault" or
"I uh uh, well, I uh uh uh want to make sure that uh uh uh.... we get to the bottom of this uh uh uh situation"

Thank you for confirming that Broun was correct in his assessment..
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that weíve set.
Weíve got to have a civilian national security force thatís just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

The purchase of almost 3,000 armored vehicles for use WITHIN the US is also something that should have everyone scratching their head as to the need for that many vehicles of that type within our own borders.- This was not mentioned in the prior post, but certainly is related.

Finally, the rationale for purchasing that much ammunition as a "cost cutting" measure is absurd. Again, the amount of ammunition the Dept of HOMELAND Security bought is enough for 106 YEARS based on past and current usage rates of 15/Million year that are listed in the quoted article. At the same time, the Chief Procurement Officer for DHS, Nick Nayak, claims they "are not" stockpiling ammunition so which is it - are they stockpiling to save money or are they not stockpiling - and if not, what are they doing with all that ammunition?
Regarding the armored vehicles, this type of vehicle is already in service within many policew departments. I would venture that they could've used something like one during the North Hollywood shootout a few years back. And you never know when the next Nakatomi Plaza might be taken over.

Did you happen to notice that the article clearly stated that the total purchase amount was for the next 4-5 years out, which would indicate that the total is not being purchased now, hence how can they be "stockpiling". For someone who is quick to question the comprehension abilities of others, you do seem to jump to conclusions quite a bit yourself.

Another point is that the amount of ammo used in a war, in this case the amount used in Iraq, has no bearing on the amount of ammo required for training personel in these various federal agencies.

Recycled fears, recycled lies.

You guys are suck suckers for made-up BS.
Joseph Farah editor of that bastion of paranoia, the WorldNetDaily wants us to ďrethinkĒ our immigration laws.(h/t:JD)
Farah: Curtail Muslim Immigration
WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah has been touting a WND/Wenzel Strategies poll purporting to find that many Muslim-Americans want the imposition of Sharia law, contradicting other studies which found extremely low support for radical views among Muslims in the U.S. Should the results of a Wenzel Strategies survey be trusted?
The polling firm gave Todd Akin the lead in his Senate race (he lost by 16%), claimed Mitt Romney and Republican Senate candidates would win in Ohio and Virginia (they lost) and promoted birther conspiracies. The firm even alleged that polls showing President Obama ahead were skewed to favor Obama (they werenít) because they employ biased college students and intentionally ignore Tea Partiers. After the election, the firmís head said Obama only won because his supporters are dumb.
But while speaking to fellow anti-Muslim activist Erik Stackelbeck of the Christian Broadcasting Network, Farah said that the poll proves that the U.S. should rethink allowing Muslim immigration, to which Stakelbeck agreed:

I threw a bone out to see which dog grabbed it first. Congrats, the big dog always gets the first bone but fails to get the bones Oh my throws out. The liberace dogs only like conservative bones.

Are you saying the only time military fires their weapons are in a war?

Please - don't let them know - when Obama was elected I bought stock in gun and ammo manufacturers.

I figured the "Gun Stealin" campaign launched by the manufacturers prostitute group, the NRA, would cause gun and ammo prices to explode, and along with it profits.

Thanks NRA - as a lifetime member your total absence of ethics is a consistency I can count on.

Now what about the UN stockpiling weapons and ammo to invade America.

- THAT'S SCARY -

THE UN IS STOCKPILIN ASSAULT RIFLES AND ANMO - IT'LL ALL BE GONE SOON AND THEN HOW ARE WE GONNA PROTECT OUR FAMILIES FROM THEM SOCIALIST TOLUVIAN SHOCK TROOPS !

A little info on Obamacare fees:::
"Income: One of the top factors determining how much you'll pay next year is your income. That's because subsidies are available to those with incomes of up to 400% of the poverty line -- roughly $45,000 for an individual or $92,000 for a family of four. Some 57% of enrollees will receive subsidies, and those subsidies will cover nearly two-thirds of the premium, on average, according to the Congressional Budget Office's estimates.."

Question, So who pays the subsidies?????
Where does the subsidy money come from??
Is this money part of the fed reserve printing up over $85 billion a month?????? Again adding to the debt ten-fold??????

Come on Libbers, everyone wants to know the answers to these types of questions.
