OK, just when did Bill Nye come into the equation?

A rock by any other name would still hurt if it was thrust upon you.

wont work with libroids as they have no brains....
Nawww. I have no intentions of exploding brains. I think that happened with many folks long ago. I just see scatterbrained delusions of grandeur running amok, and sit in utter awe as people argue the same points in numerous directions. now it seems to be "rocks go up and down, the Earth is old, and for some odd reason eggs are better when scrambled.

It's a bamboozled world indeed, inside some folks' heads, and not being involved much in the politics of people in office of anything, I find it somewhat intriguing that arguing points that have been argued for centuries still goes on. It almost brings me back to what my Dad always said, being "those with minds that run in circles, are quick to try to debunk those with minds that focus on the straight line".

now why should I give a dummy like you a break? Obamas hands tied my butt.
Obama and libroids who pushed through a bill not even read by members, and told "you're find out whats in after passage."
A 2500 page bill that Obama has increased with another 10,000 pages of regulations. A website created at the last minute before going online. A President who lied and said "you can keep your insurance."
And sorry ole ugly eve wants to blame the tea party for obamacare failures. you need to get into the real world and quit living in that dream world of "Obama's Mantra for Dummies."
The numbers reflect the opinions of the citizens polled which excluded you and me, and possibly every poster on this forum, but this doesnt mean the numbers are inaccurate. What it does mean is Obamas aura of bs is starting to become known even among his own party members, but not by dummies like you.
Obama's aura has turned black in Europe, South America, Russia, China, and nearly every advanced country in the world.
Folks now see an inept President of the United States that can be bluffed, bullied, and shown to be the wimp he truly has been all along.
And we here on topix see a wimp along obama supporter who still shovels the BS for Obama.....
Obamas numbers are going down, down, down, to the ring of fire and you blame the tea party, what a dufus you are...
Where do you get your news, in dreams you think are revelations sent by God??? During the Obama term more top level leaders of terrorist organizations worldwide have been taken out, including the one Bush pretended to chase for years that actually attacked America. He is closer than any anyone as ever been to success as his staff works or the Iran issue. The economy wrecked by Republican rule is coming back, slowly.

I have never said Obamas number are not going down, but who cares its his last term. Want to talk about numbers going down, take a look at where the Congress is thanks to the uncompromising hate filled Tea Party. Tell me, what has the Tea Party accomplished, besides nothing. Tell me do you really think the Tea Party matters on a national level, and that's what we are talking about when you talk Obama. You know it doesn't, hasn't and never will, unless you think going backwards and getting nothing accomplished is good.

And I'm betting you think that's good, its not. I can't think of ONE good thing that has come from the Tea Party. I take that back, late night talk was extremely funny when Palin was running for VP and again when that nut from Texas took the floor of the House. Other than that is has been the butt of jokes for years, what has the Tea Party accomplished. Even Hitler had his good side, refusing to use gas in WW2 because he had personally had it used on him in WW1. I just can't think on one thing good about you or the Tea Party, sorry.

Do you really believe the statement you made that I posted above?

The very premise of your statement above is dependent on science. You're assuming that the rock is hard, that the mass of it is sufficient to cause harm, that the trajectory of the rock is predictable, that nerve cells function in predictable ways.

There's a lot of science involved in a flying rock causing pain. If you believe your statement to be true, you must concede that science allows accurate predictions by using scientific principles.

Just what is your obsession with the age of the Earth? It has nothing to do with the state of this country and the disastrous road the Democrats are leading us down.
I have no obsession with the age of the earth. I simply think that anyone who disregards and disdains science by believing that the earth is less than 10,000 years old is not rational and I have no need nor want to communicate with them in this setting. It helps me to set parameters as to who I'll respond to. You on the other hand, who have said that you understand the earth to be what it is at 4.5 billion years, have passed the smell test in that regard but having experienced your other beliefs I find different reasons for questioning your rationality.

CB is (or whoever it was) is absolutely correct in saying that the disregard for science, in this case the age of the earth, is absolutely relevant in politics. Someone like Braun or Bachman or a whole host of other elected officials IMO have zero credibility and as such zero positive input or outcome in deciding the fate of me and my fellow Americans. I am a progressive (and proud of it) not a regressive.

I'm sorry, but huh? Who, in their right mind, doesn't know the density of a rock, whether it being igneous, sedimentary, etc., is hard? I guess that might be where the quote "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" right?

Now i ask you. If you fall down, hit your head on a rock, are you going to care how old the damn thing is? No. You are probably on the way to the hospital, hoping that your busted head will heal.

And as far as your statement about a flying rock, just when do rocks fly? Is this your world, or some jacked up Alice in Wonderland perception? In case you wanted to know, rocks don't fly. They only become a projectile when thrown.

well there is this:::

I took a Geology class once. Don’t know if they were lying or telling the truth as Geology, like some other sciences, is based partly on speculation, actual science, and pseudo-science. Hey 50-50 one way or the other, who can disprove or who can prove.

Point of this post is, does everyone or anyone know that along hwy 76 in Young Harris Georgia can be found some of the oldest rocks in the world?? They match the age of the oldest known rocks in a mountain range in Europe. Sorta like saying “our rocks are just as old as your rocks.”

Now Carbon dating didn’t tell the Geologists this, as Carbon dating doesn’t work on minerals.
But Carbon dating does work on Carbon based life forms within a certain timeframe range. I believe we could use carbon dating on the fungi known as libroids and pretty much tell us their age. Some would be classified as decrepit, and some as brain dead…but it does make me wonder….

Well heck! I should change from Meteorology to Geology. At least with the weather, it can be seen by all, and studied on a consistent basis. Any fool can pick up a rock, look at it, and say "...yep, it's old" and get away with it, while receiving grants to look at more "old rocks". IN the long run, I suppose everyone needs a hobby they can rip the government off with.

Now that I think about it, who gives a cluck how old the planet is? I'll tell you what... If you really want to do something amazing, find a cure for the common cold, cancer, emphysema, heart disease, and the numerous other things that are relevant in today's world.

Walking around looking at rocks is the lazy man's perception of helping the world. Gee, while we're at it, let's cut down a tree and count the rings to see how old it is. Well, it ain't gettin' no older now is it, geniuses? Pfft.

I put my bet on "it's inherited in their DNA, as guest says morals are." course guest only spews forth what he has read somewhere and thinks DNA stands for "Democratic National Association," when it really means "Dummies Not Allowed" to have a simple understanding of the world around them...
Actually, and I'm only responding for clarifications sake, what I said is that DNA is partially,(you do understand partially do you not? maybe not) where our morals come from. Now you can carry on misconstruing whatever you wish.
