You do that baby (micro-chip me)! Seems I never said the correct things and to be honest when Topix took that ole gay direction it just did no longer have a natural appeal. I did not read it during that time and now it seems to be coming back to how it used to be. I guess you could connect to my OnStar and follow me.

It is always interesting to see what threatens some people. You can often find clues in what they try and hide. Which reminds me - I most likely have mail. Perhaps the 2 missing posts above will sort themselves out.

TMV, felt no threats and I have nothing to hide or come out about. Labels sometimes are given but until you truly know a person or have walked a mile in their shoes maybe just maybe you could be wrong about them. Sorry for the attempt to participate, we have been studying a similar subject. I knew I was probably wrong but it is the participation in forums that keep them going. I hope the others will continue with you. As for mail I don't understand that one. If you have the capacity to do so please delete all my posts.

Sorry - that was NOT directed at you. That was directed to the one blocking my posts from appearing for over an hour. It seems to be a recurring issue with my posts. Usually they just go into the black hole. Sometimes they reappear after an hour or two. It is a by product of having cost Topix 10's of thousands of dollars by suing them - and by repeatedly reminding them that if I find the right combination of circumstances, or the 1996 CDA is ever revised even slightly to open the door - I will sue them again, because someone really needs to - since what they have created basically does incredibly evil things in individual lives and in communities. So, again, that part of my post was NOT directed at you. The "mail" referred to ORR responses from Lamar Paris - which is of course the earlier "back to work" comment.

And if he unto whom the vision came wrote, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay, then perhaps it is not too paranoid to suggest that men and microchips should not mix.
Uhmmm,
Iron not mixed with clay,
microchips not mixed with humans,
now who fears the advancements of science,
we report, you decide.

Hemoglobin is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of all vertebrates (with the exception of the fish family Channichthyidae) as well as the tissues of some invertebrates.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pace_maker
A pacemaker is a medical device that uses electrical impulses, delivered by electrodes contracting the heart muscles, to regulate the beating of the heart. The primary purpose of a pacemaker is to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart's natural pacemaker is not fast enough, or there is a block in the heart's electrical conduction system. Modern pacemakers are externally programmable and allow the cardiologist to select the optimum pacing modes for individual patients. Some combine a pacemaker and defibrillator in a single implantable device. Others have multiple electrodes stimulating differing positions within the heart to improve synchronisation of the lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart.

...Many advancements have been made to improve the control of the pacemaker once implanted. Many of these have been made possible by the transition to microprocessor controlled pacemakers.

...During a surgical procedure to set a fracture, the bone fragments are first repositioned (reduced) into their normal alignment. They are held together with special implants, such as plates, screws, nails and wires.

Internal fixation allows shorter hospital stays, enables patients to return to function earlier, and reduces the incidence of nonunion (improper healing) and malunion (healing in improper position) of broken bones.

The implants used for internal fixation are made from stainless steel and titanium, which are durable and strong. If a joint is to be replaced, rather than fixed, these implants can also be made of cobalt and chrome. Implants are compatible with the body and rarely cause an allergic reaction.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosthesis
a prosthesis is an artificial device that replaces a missing body part lost through trauma, disease, or congenital conditions.

...To mimic the knee's functionality during gait, microprocessor-controlled knee joints have been developed that control the flexion of the knee.

...A microprocessor is used to interpret and analyse signals from knee-angle sensors and moment sensors. The microprocessor receives signals from its sensors to determine the type of motion being employed by the amputee. Most microprocessor controlled knee-joints are powered by a battery housed inside the prosthesis.

Great post Oh My - you have proved your ability to copy text. Alas, wisdom and open minded thought eludes you. It is the curse of the left that you fail to understand the consequences of "taking care" of everything and everyone. There is a process in reality, scientific in nature called evolution / survival of the fittest. You can't fix everything, every genetic defect or accident. Life goes on, so does disease, suffering, death. It's all natural. It has a place. It is part of the overall process.

And, as usual you simply assume that I am as much a lunatic as yourself - that I see everything as all or nothing. But I don't. I actually don't care about limited implementation of technology. I do draw lines, and those lines can get blurry. The main problem is that those lines have been crossed in ways that are not blurry, AND that advancement is continuing at a very rapid pace - unwisely. You see - technology isn't evil. But they ways in which it can be abused most certainly are.

The primary problem, is that most people, ike yourself, are simply uneducated, but like to talk without having actual understanding. NAIVE is a word that springs to mind. You naively think you have any idea whatsoever about what goes on in corporate laboratories, military and governmental programs etc.

AND you are most naive in that you brain cannot process beyond what you see in front of you today. You can't possibly understand the potential uses / abuses of where all of it leads.

It is happening faster than you can imagine. But you are like a frog in a warm pot of water, basking in the warmth, ahhhh, they turned up the heat a bit....niiiiiice.... ahhhhh.......

The problem is that your perspective is about as wide as the frogs. The ones controlling the burners know where things are heading, and the end result is a cooked frog.

You won't realize that though until it is too late. My problem is that you are dangerous to others. There are people smart enough to see some of the more negative end destinations - but you are a cheerleader for stupidity. Rah Rah Rah - don't think! Just follow. Unfortunately, people like you add to the growing apathy and foolishness of the overall culture.

If you survive the fall off the cliff - I wonder if you'll have learned enough humility to admit you were a fool.

PS.... the retarded right has its own set of problems - I say that just in the hope that I won't have to listen to to another one of your paranoid rants about how its all the republicans fault, or listen to a bunch of idiot republicans jump on my bandwagon for attacking the dreaded Oh My liberal.

Honestly - you're all in the same pot, fighting over the best way to die. And while you all distract yourselves with petty bickering in circles - evil grows.

Peace,
- david

I posted this upon another thread the other day – it seems appropriate here as well.

One of my old antagonizers came out of the woodwork recently. Don’t really know why. Maybe just couldn’t resist disputing something I had said, or just coming to the aid of someone more to her mind frame and just in need of a more professional ability. Don’t really know. Although, I was somewhat dismayed at the thought of her possible return, I was relieved that she was indeed alive, and appear to be well and up to speed.

I also have noticed some of the more unpleasant, and purposefully antagonistic have taken leave for a while. Maybe changed names, or realized they were doing more harm to their cause than good. Really just isn’t any way to tell, but in my view, a breath of fresh air.

I sincerely hope better days of reasonable positive debate, and dirt free “funning” are in Topix’s future, as in the lack of a real unbiased news media, it is a source of local news and communication.

I ran across this Bible verse recently, I hope most can find agreement:

Luke 6:43-45 (NIV)

"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.

People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers.

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.

For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks."

Once upon a time I was watching a news story on TV. A man was being arrested for the beating death of his wife, and while being walked from the squad car in handcuffs, a reporter shouted out, "Why did you do it?"

The man answered, "Because I LOVED her. And because I LOVED her it was my responsibility as her husband to teach her discipline."

It was then that God began to teach me about the importance of definitions in language. You see, this man used the word "Love" but the definition of his understanding was perhaps not a commonly held one - and yet, HE used his understanding of that word and operated under his definition of that word, Love. In his language, Love meant beating his wife to death.

So when someone says, "I hope most can find agreement: "bible verse bible verse bible verse" - I always wonder what underlying definitions and meanings THEY hold in regards to what they speak, write or copy.

I know the definitions of the fruits I have been given. Judge those.

LOL - either one is good :) But still not what I had in mind. Oh My already used 2 of the words, just added your name in the middle, which is incorrect but we won't get to that until we start talking about the physical body of the beast. Sort of like people. We have bodies, and we have minds. And then we have spirit. Just looking at the structural form of the mind now.

2 words. And here is a hint, "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast" .

"Artificial Intelligence". Yes.

So, what is artifial intelligence? Is it just scary conspiracy theory that involves, in the words of Oh My, time travelling robots and pure Science Fiction mumbo jumbo? Or is it a realistic possibility? Is there actual work being done on Artificial Intelligence? What sort of actual headway has been made along these lines? Also - supposing artificial intelligence were to occur, were to "be born" or "given life" - what are the physical limitations or possibilities that such a new "thinking being" might encounter? i.e. what sort of "Body / Bodies" would be attached to the "mind" of this technological iron beast, and along that line of thought, what could it actually DO / Physically Accomplish above and beyond just "thinking"? Would there be a spiritual component to such an new "Living Entity"? Are there different levels of awareness that are possible? How much actual "Thinking / Processing" capacity are we talking about, and subsequently how fast might such an infant creation grow / learn / evolve?

In this next discussion section, these are the things that will be explored, to give people some things to think about. Anyone is welcome to throw out thoughts on the matter. I will continue adding to this as I find time. But these are thoughts to guide your thoughts for now.

I, being Christian, often make reference to God’s Word, with an intent and purpose to provide and/or create awareness of God’s Word, specifically as it relates to issues and/or deceptions contrary to, what I and I think many others believe, is that infallible Word of God.

Readers of the Bible, of course, are accountable only to God for their sincerity in the acceptance or rejection of his Holy Word.

My posting with regards to Luke 6:43-45 should have been recognized for its intended purpose, a perfect guidance for an imperfect world.

Look to the Word of God – The Holy Bible for the answers to all your questions. There you will find the God of Abraham (a Triune God), who created all, Salvation in Jesus Christ, and guidance through the Holy Spirit.

Here we find the prophecy warning of prophets and false prophets. We must be diligent.
Read your Bible.

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

1 John 4:1-3
King James Version (KJV)

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

It is written that is was spoken of my Lord, "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

Alas, it seems the dogs have grabbed upon the Holy Veil and continually shred it with their fangs, and the pearls of wisdom given to the masses of pigs are trampled by lack of wisdom, becoming naught but a flailing stick with which to beat the sheep.

NOW... back to this beastly discussion of "Artificial Intellignece"

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_intel...

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software, and the branch of computer science that develops machines and software with human-like intelligence. Major AI researchers and textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents",[1] where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chances of success.[2] John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1955,[3] defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines".[4]

GUIDANCE COMMENTS: Browsing that entire page is a good beginning background read. As stated, the term was first coined in 1955. That is a long time for people to have been working on this. It isn't something new. Soooo - definitely not science fiction.

It is something that for the 1st time is actually becoming possible though. To "think" would require a Processor/Brain capable of keeping up.... and now finally there are some rather formidable advances in processing. Next we'll go into just exactly what some of that processing power is. We'll discuss the "Heads" of this beastie.

Again, for those interested, that link is a good learning primer, because it isn't science fiction.... it is a very real concept that has been actively explored and sought out by the most advanced aspects of the scientific community for over half a century. To continue this exploration, you should do some homework.
