Why was the gun loaded, rule number one ,unload guns.DUH

Why was it loaded? Who failed to unload it? However safe weapon handling procedures should always be first priority for anyone who handles guns on a daily basis.
REMEMBER Before handling a weapon, look at it, point it in a safe DIRECTION, check, is the ACTION OPEN & SAFETY ON, on any weapon, whether a pistol, revolver or rifle, or remove the magazine and open it. Handle one weapon at a time and then double check. This is sad for this man & his family, but he was partially at fault too. |

we were taught at the age of 7 by my father that a gun is to be treated as if it was always loaded and never bring a gun into the house loaded, and the only time you are to point the muzzle at a person was if you were intending on shooting that person in self defense, also all of our guns were to at all times, except during use, to have trigger locks or breech locks applied. to this day i follow these rules. it is a sad thing that this accident happened and my sympathy to the family, i wish he was taught the same lessons i was taught when he was young. ALL guns should have to be sold with trigger locks or breech locks, you never know when a child could get ahold of your gun and shoot themselves or someone else. cars come with seatbelts, guns should come with locks. i dont know how this accident happened but it was avoidable and hopefully reading this, it might not happen to someone else

it's called an accident & it does happen. we've all made stupid mistakes.
poor man. |
This one was deadly. |

It was NOT an "accident": it was either:
1. Stupidity (Fault: employee) 2. Laziness (Fault: employee) 3. A training failure (Fault: shoot range) Dismissing it as an "accident" is ignorance. |
