i think the sherriff has his hands tied from Tbi & Fbi. Mr Harville has not been a bad Sherriff. Could he do better? Sure he can. He learns from mistakes just like all of us. I think we as the ppl do not know all the details in busting drug dealers. i will support Mr Harville once again.

This should be an exciting elction year !...I heard that a new resident, who has extensive experience in law enforcement may throw his hat in
for Sheriff. He was a former homicide detective, witha considerable amount of politcal savy, Mr. James Hannan, is a well educated and well liked person, who works for the people. He has good connections at the state house as well as Washington D..he will bring a new life to our sheriffs department, and the political climate here in Grainger County. "Come On Jim" show what yall got"

Personally, I would vote for anyone over what we have. I will be happy to hear more about this guy. We need someone that will clean these drugs and thieves out. Most of all we need a judge that will deal out some justice for the tax paying citizens.

Let me tell you of a guy from Bean Station, Mr. Jim Hannan, a tough no nonsense work for the people type of guy. This guy will NOT stand for the non- sense, but, he is dedicated to helping and working along sid of people. This man has what it takes. I can tell you, that this guy has the connections, he is a good communicator and does not
warm up to corrupt minds, in fact he stands on the word of the people, he is an excellent listenor, he is very intelligent and is able to use that intelligence to EVERYONE advantage. He is a PEOPLE PERSON, not part of a GOOD OLE BOY network, his ideas are top priority foe Graniger County. I will put my money on JIM HANNAN, we need to get him to run !! Yes, Jim please run and rid us of the norm
that has plaqued us all.

Are you a Tom or a Nancy? It looks like you are campaigning using both names. Is he really from Bean Station, or is he a transplant from somewhere?

I hate to disagree... But, I am not sure Casper could catch a cold. Look at the busts he has made, 99% have been lucked into by an officer. The warrent for Gann was handed down months ago. His office just got around to serving it last week. He said himself at the meeting he held that he had took the dogs into the school one time. Yet, he bought new dogs at the expence of the tax payers. He claims that he cannot keep drugs and cell phones out of his own jail. He says he is out manned and out gunned on the evening news. So, if this is the best we can get, I say things are going to get worse before they get better.

Further more, until we get a judge that will actually give out some hard time Chuck Norris couldn't do us any good. Grainger County has a catch and release program. Doesn't matter how times they are caught or for what, they will soon be turned loose on us again, and again, and again.

So, if you want to say how good Scott Layel is that is your choice. All I have to say is this.... Even a broke clock is right twice daily. Being LUCKY can only take you so far. So far, all we have seen from him has been talk and luck. His luck will run out, we are not sure the talk will ever stop as long as there is a reporter there to listen to it.

I think if you we really want someone who will crack down on the drug dealers and clean up this community then we will have to bring in someone from outside of Grainger county. Just like if we want a winning football team we are going to have to bring in a coach from outside the community. If we can't fire a coach because we suck so badly then how are we going to have the guts not to elect a good ole boy from Grainger County. I know the job pays very little but if we can get someone from outside of here that wants to make a little retirement money that isn't worried about keeping everyone happy, ex: the drug dealers then maybe we can clean it up.

I read the paper every week. I also watch the news. All I have ever seen from him is the blowing of his own horn. Every bust I have read about was a result of LUCK. The pot bust across the mountain was because an officer happened to see a pot plant while driving by. The meth bust in Avondale was because an officer stopped to help a stranded moterist. The Gann bust was an OLD warrent being served and they happened upon the meth lab in his basement. Then his stoner buyers showed up to get their fix. All LUCK. Luck will only take you so far. Hard work, determination, brains and some testicular fortitude would take him much further. I fear that he has none of those things or the will to try.

I was at the meeting where he said with his own mouth that he could not keep cell phones and drugs out of his own jail. I was there when he said he had bought a new drug dog, but had only went into the high school one time with the dogs. He crows about his drug task force, yet we can all see drug deals going on in most any parking lot every day of the week. Every week someone else is getting their property stolen. His advise was take pictures of your belongings and write down the serial numbers.

I have no desire to have his job nor am I qualified to do it. Instead of running for sheriff I think I will just vote for someone that can properly do the job.

As for calling the Grainger County officers...Yes, they do show up. Then the book it straight back to Rutledge. I have been down that road. Grainger County came, they never looked into anything that I or my neighbors told them. Blaine's officer was not on duty at the time, so when he came on duty they called him and sent him out here, hours after the incident. I am sure glad it wasn't a serious emergency.

He could do so much more to HELP Grainger County by just doing what he was elected to do. I for one and sick of the drug addicts and thieves. Our Sheriff needs to grow a set and clean up this county like he was elected to do.

I feel sure you will feel the same way when the thives show up at your house and carry off your stuff, or your teenagers get their first hit of meth from the local dealer. Until then keep singing the praises of the sheriff. Be sure and let us know how that goes for you once you get robbed or are dealing with an addicted child.
