My new theory on this, while not really "an eye for an eye," is that the punishment should be related somehow to the crime. What if this fellow were sentenced to live for a time in an Old Order community and just ride in a horse-drawn buggy? Fitting, I think. Oh boy do I have no tolerance for those who drink and drive!
