Today May the 4th was a day I will never forget. A team from Campbell Soup went to Soupy Island and built a baseball diamond and a volley ball pit for the children. I never knew this place existed. Wow what a place. I am telling everyone I know about this place.

I go to Soupy Island every Mother's Day weekend for Girl Scouts. We have so much fun there. During our free time we get to play on all of theplayground things, and we also get to go on the slide and the carousel. But the carousel spits out grease so when you come off sometimes you have grease on you. We spend the night there in tents which is really cool. Except for when it gets cold over night, and listening to the planes almost 24/7. But it is really fun anyway

To curious Paulsboro girl - I believe it's at the end of Red Bank Avenue on the left as the street ends at the Delaware River. I lived in Paulsboro and Woodbury as a child and have wonderful memories of this one of a kind place. Hope you get a chance to visit Soupy Island.

I was visiting a lady in the hospital in Harrisburg, and we got to talking about our youth in Fishtown. She mentioned going to Soupy island as a child in the 30's, and I still remember taking the Soupy island Ferry in the early 50's from my home on Eyre street in Fishtown, riding the merry-go-round and slide, and having the soup for lunch. I didn't know that I was poor, only that I was having fun. It is good to know that it is still going.

Is Soupy Island open to the public? I have driven past there several time but I wasn't sure it was open. Any way to get information on it?

Does anyone know the web site for Soupy Island? Is it still open to the public? I would like to take my daughter there.

They could have passed during the war and stayed there.
