I am 66 now, retired and living in Florida. I lived right on the White Horse Pike in Clementon and went to Overbrook Regional. Joined the Navy in 1967 and only went back home a couple times since. I remember the skating rink well. And I still remember one winter it snowed so much the weight caved in the roof of the Glendora rink. So sad......Guess they rebuilt it. Berlin Farmers Market was my second home as was Atco Dragway in those old days.

Il have fond memories of my youth from way back then. And a very big hello to all of you !

I guess I spent 3 or 4 nights a week hanging out somewhere in Clementon or the skating ring or dancing somewhere from around 1958 to 1962.
Remember the dance was at the fire hall in the winter and in the park in the summer. The whole building would vibrate with the Bristol Stomp.

Hi Alan, Did you go to WT Gibbs school and Overbrook High? I sure do remember the dances at the fire hall and the park. I met Bobby Rydell way back then he was hot. LOL My friend Lynn Cooper and I used to go there every weekend. My mom worked at the first aid stand, when I was little she took us kids to see the every friday night fire works. Not sure if I know you but it seems like we lived in Clementon around the same time. I had a brother Jimmy and a younger brother Denny you may have known one of them. Hope to hear from you and see if we knew each other from the old days

Hi Sara, I did go to Overbrook but I did not go to WT Gibbs School. I was in the Lindenwold school system. I grew p in Garden Lake.
Bobby Rydell came to a lot of the dances in the area back then because he lived in South Philly. I do remember in snowy night when Bobby came to the Clementon dance. Almost no one there that night because of the snow but Bobby stayed around and told jokes for a couple hours.
Anyone remember when Fabian had the car accident right in front of Overbrook High School just as school was getting out? Fabian's uncle owned Forte Oil Co. in Hamilton or Vineland.

My sister & I were reminicing and found this site. Brings back some great memories. Not Clementonians, but every summer, birth till about 16 at Pillings lake (for me 1945 - 1961).
My sisters know sooooooo much more than I do about it but some things that I haven't see yet in the posts (I still have a few hundered left to read):
Mutt & Jeff's. We would call a bar now but then a Tap Room. Used to go there (as a kid) with dad as he tossed down a few and play shuffleboard.
The Cow Tail Bar (not in Clementon, but somewhere nearby), for ice cream.
The Berlin Farmer's Market, where I got all my comic books, half of the front page torn off.
My uncle, Joe Lynch, owned the Triangle for awhile.
My cousins, the Morrisons, growing up there, any of you Clementonians know them?
Walking from our bungalo at Pillings, in the morning, to go up to the bakery and get treats.
After many years at the Pillings bungalo (my family rented at least three of them from Uncle Sam, Sam Berry) then going to my Grana's place on Atlantic Ave, across the road from my Uncle Joe's and right by the sand hill at Pillings).
Seeing the state of Pillings (not a) Lake brings tears to my eyes, so I know how y'all feel about Clementon.
Well I am going to continue reading the posts that I am enjoying so much.

Hi Kathy, I may know your sister Maryann. Name sure does sound familiar. Do you know if she was going to triangle in late fifties early sixties? Does she know Marge Cooper? I was good friends with Lynn Cooper for years. I lived in Clementon from the early fifties till 64 when I married and moved to Pa. I guess this is enough info till I know if I am thinking of the right person. Please let me know would be really great to talk to someone I knew from way back then. Take Care
