So the lady that owned Powder was just going to leave him? That's sad. I would love to adopt him. They should have an auction to adopt him and give the money to the shelter that took care of him.

I would love to have that adorable cat. The owner should have taken the cat to a shelter.

Why is it that the poorest among us also seem to be the fattest? I think the owners must have been feeding him fast food.

Poll: How has the 23lb housecat affected your view of the presidential candidates? I mean, who cares if its a boy or a princess, it's affecting our news media negatively. http://www.236.com/news/2008/07/31/poll_how_h...

That woman should be ashamed of herself, letting the poor thing fend for itself. To think you have a pet for 10 years and then just throw it into the streets - what a heartless
B----. Hopefully he will get a good home. and the woman ends up at a shelter.
I was thinking the same thing! Poor chubby baby! It was pretty heartless, but I wonder what would have happened if she took it to a shelter herself. I'm thinking that maybe the shelter would have put it to sleep since it was 10 yrs old and so overweight. I guess sometimes things have a strange way of working out!
Too bad the kitty is a boy or they could have named him Cinderella now that he will be rich and famous! lol!

100's of people calling to adopt a street cat yet we have thousands of kids who are looking for homes in foster care.

All the poor animals who are abandoned abused and suffering ..On Fire Island at the end of the season I've seen summer animals left as their owners go back to the mainland.
I always adopt from a shelter and keep till the end.

You have a point, but if you wear a hat and comb your hair differently, maybe nobody will notice.

That's messed up. I'd NEVER give up my cats if god forbid, I ever became homeless. They're part of my family, how can I ditch my family?

Leaving that cat was wrong! Owner should be charged with cruelty.
