The school must have been in the wrong if they gave him a settlement. If he was a bully why did they get rid of him. They keep other staff members that are bullies to the students. Oh that's right everyone said he was a bully to the staff not the students. I think the students need to be protected more than the staff from bullies.

No Xco-worker... I'm not Mrs. A. But thank-you! She is a beautiful lady.. You know we reep what we sew.. If you did'nt respect Mr.A. you did'nt get it back, he is not a YES MAN PUPPET..And i am totally not a fool, excuse you. But generally ther is no excuse for people like you who pass such harsh judgement on people you do'nt know. Judgement is not our right, that belongs to a much higher power. I hope you cope better in the future!!!

Bullied has described Andy J. Arbeitman perfectly! I know because I am one of many victims (teachers, staff, and students) he had while principal of Seneca High School with the Seneca R-7 School District in Seneca, MO. If you Google "workplace bully", compare the description of a "workplace bully" with the tactics he pulled on his victims in DeSoto and elsewhere, you will realize you have been dealing not with a "leader" but a "workplace bully". Kudos to the school board for going ahead and buying up his contract and sending him on his way. It is sad, though, to realize he got paid $208,000.00 for behaving as a "workplace bully". Unless the law is changed, he now has the freedom to go down the road and do it again! I sincerely hope the individuals who wrote the anonymous letter to the school board will contact your state representative and state senator to start the process of getting the law changed that prevents Arbeitman's employers from telling his prospective employers of his job performance and why they had to let him go. Believe me, DeSoto and Seneca school districts are singing the same verse and same song when it comes to Andy J. Arbeitman!

Yea it's true, and why shouldn't he get the job when DeSoto won't share what he is accused of. If they didn't share with the taxpayers then why would they share with a future employer?

Our school board needs change! Please go vote at the next election people!!!

Hey Jim or whom ever you are, and no matter to whom you think you may be replying, FYI I'm a taxpayer of the De Soto School District and this is a public forum so if you don't like what you are reading on this public forum I would suggest you be the one to move on and get a life. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it Jim.

It is true, I was at the Fox Board meeting tuesday night when the announcement was made. We appear to be in the same mess Desoto was in over a year ago, the complete lack of confidence in our superintendant, but unlike Desoto our Board has not gotten the wake up call yet. I read every single post on here this morning to try and gain a feel for this new hire of ours. I feel bad for what your district went through but I think I am about to feel worse for ours. If there is anyone that has a clue why Fox would have taken on such a toxic outsider when they are embroiled in contraversy themselves I would love to hear about it. Because I am an outsider I understand if there is no response to this.

We couldn't tell you if he is good or bad since our district won't share what he is accused of.... You know us,the taxpayers that paid his huge salary then had to buy out his contact?
Maybe he tried to break up the hometown click that runs the district and they just wouldn't let that happen. Our district is stumbling down hill and Andy has been gone going on a year so yeah I think people need to find a new person to blame.

I do not beleive he was the problem. I think it was some of the life long Desoto residents that are employees of the school now. Some think they can do and say what ever they want and there are no consequences for their actions. It may just be that Andy J. was trying to get these employees to stop bullying the students and trying to remove them from the district. Desoto has some staff that is in a click like in high school. If your not in the click or try to discipline someone in the click they will go after you. Andy J. was not a life long resident so he was not in the click. Sorry he had to go. Just remember he was given a settlement so the district must known they where in the wrong. If they where right for getting rid of him they would have never givin him a settlement.

Puzzled, evidently you've done your homework... Thank-you. You are exactly right, with the exception that (the school board) gave the settlement, and THEY KNOW HE DID NOTHING WRONG!!! EXCEPT (NOT BE THEIR Y-E-S MAN!!!! He is better off somewhere else after the way they did him... IT'S THE DISTRICTS LOSS, THANKS TO THE board.

Taking someone's life? Where on earth did that come from? If you want to name names start with your own, Jim. What is your interest in the district Jim? What makes your opinion more valid than the next? The Arbeitman matter is serious business and the injustices done within the De Soto School District are inexcusable. Fox School District employees are well aware of what De Soto has been through and are dreading what will inevitably come down the pipe with Arbeitman at the helm. I have yet to hear any legitimate arguments from you Jim; rather "attacks" on other's responses. I would say the majority of the posts in this thread are looking to shed some light on a very dark situation and make others aware, as well as promote the proper change required to prevent such a costly (both financial and academic) mistake in the future. Being a vocal and active advocate of local education is a noble endeavor. I'm going to refer to this incident as "Andygate" because it meets all of the criteria of corruption and beurocratic b.s. that bring districts to their knees. If there weren't graduate parents like 2012graduatemom speaking out about interactions with administrators, faculty members, as well as board members, "Andygate" would be deeper and darker than ever. Time when the district could have been focusing on improving education and future interests of the district was spent investigating a problem that could have been avoided. Education is the focus and Andy J made that his last priority causing the upheaval that has since ensued. You are correct, he is gone; but now, now the district must spend extra time picking up the pieces left in the wake of "Andygate", thus taking even more time away from what is really important-education. Hopefully, Stryhal will find a place with Arbeitman at Fox's expense because she too is a barrier to the education kids in the De Soto School District deserve. Education is not a trend or a chart. I believe that true educators find teaching to be a vocation rather than a job. Until someone with that same mindset achieves a voice in the district, De Soto will struggle to pull out of the dark shadows Mr. Arbeitman, Ms. Stryhal, and their minions have cast.

The man was run out of the school district he was at prior to DeSoto. Getting run out of 2 districts should tell you something about him.

Twin Rivers School District in Broseley, Mo., near Poplar Bluff. If you are really interested in finding out about his character then contact De Soto and asked for a copy of the letter from the "concerned citizens". It will give you some great insight and it is public information. All I can say is he is a smooth talker and most people can not see through the BS.
