Good. She doesn't deserve to be a mother to that poor child.

I wasn't able to pull up the news article, but in Missouri at age 16 she is still a juvenile. To be sentenced as an "adult" she would first have to be certified as an adult in juvenile court. The main thing the judge is going to want to know is are there any services in the Division of Youth Services that this girl could benefit from. Someone from DYS would have to testify to that. IF she is then certified to stand trial as an adult in an adult court hearing. Her juvenile record up to that point is irrelevant to the sentence. It would be her 1st adult offense. It would have to be a very very serious crime for her to pull a prison sentence let alone a life sentence. That's the way it is in Missouri. Other states may have different laws.
